Excitingly, we could see two heavyweight showdowns in the last-16. Should Germany and France win their respective games, then the two European powerhouses will lock horns in the second knockout stage.
And if Portugal and Spain secure their spot in the next round, then we’ll see an Iberian derby in the last-16. It would mark the first time the pair have faced off at the World Cup since their entertaining 3-3 draw at Russia 2018.

Elsewhere, Ivory Coast face Norway, co-hosts Mexico take on Ecuador, Australia will hope to knock out Egypt, Switzerland meet Uruguay and Colombia face down Ghana to round off the right side of the round-of-32.
It does mean that Brazil and England may meet in the quarter-finals, should they win their respective round-of-32 and last-16 matches. That'll prove easier said than done given their testing upcoming knockout clashes. The footballing giants could then face Argentina in the semi-finals of the right side of the draw.
Lionel Scaloni’s side have a favourable draw. The 2022 champions will face Australia or Egypt in the last-16 should they overcome Cape Verde. And if they make it to the quarter-finals, then Algeria, Switzerland, Colombia or Ghana await the South American side.
