The 2026 World Cup serves up four contrasting clashes on Saturday evening and Sunday morning with five-time champions Brazil starting their World Cup campaign.
Switzerland face Qatar in Santa Clara, Brazil meet Morocco at New York New Jersey Stadium, Scotland play World Cup debutans Haiti in Boston and Australia taken on Turkey in Vancouver.
Here are the best bets for a packed third day.
Recommended bets:
Qatar vs Switzerland
Switzerland have a great record in opening World Cup matches and should overpower a Qatar side that has struggled for form and cohesion.
The Swiss famously opened their 2010 campaign with a win over Spain and finished as the only side to defeat the eventual champions.
They beat Ecuador 2-1 in their 2014 opener, drew 1-1 with Brazil in their first match four years later and saw off Cameroon 1-0 in their 2022 curtain-raiser.
Murat Yakin’s side have been getting off to some flying starts in their warm-up matches too, having led at the break in two of their last three.
They were also 2-1 up over Germany going into first-half stoppage time of a March friendly, so there is good reason to believe they can make a fast start against Qatar.
The 2022 hosts, meanwhile, have failed to score in four of their last five matches and often start slowly against higher‑ranked opposition.

Score Prediction: Qatar 0-3 Switzerland
Brazil vs Morocco
The standout fixture of Day 3 sees a star‑studded Brazil squad go up against one of the most defensively disciplined teams in world football.
Discounting the Arab Cup, where they fielded a squad without any Europe-based players, Morocco have conceded just four goals in their last 18 competitive matches, including the disputed 2025 AFCON final against Senegal.
Their semi-final run in Qatar four years ago was no fluke and they have subsequently beaten Brazil in a friendly.
While the Atlas Lions are still on the rise, the five-time champions are not the force they once were at the top table of international football.
Brazil have failed to get past the quarter-finals at four of the last five World Cups and even lost at that stage in the most recent Copa America.
They failed to score against Costa Rica and Uruguay in that 2024 tournament and may struggle to put the ball in the back of the net in a potentially cagey clash in California.

Score Prediction: Brazil 0-0 Morocco
The odds for this match to finish goalless look tempting given two of Brazil’s last four tournament games finished that way while Morocco kept clean sheets against Croatia, Belgium, Portugal and Spain at the last World Cup.

Haiti vs Scotland (Sunday, 2am)
With Brazil and Morocco the favourites to progress in Group C, it could prove a straight shootout between Haiti and Scotland for the chance to go through as one of the eight best third-placed teams.
Getting off to a strong start in Sunday morning’s opener will be at the top of the agenda for Scotland boss Clarke and his team have a good opportunity against a Haiti side who are ranked 83rd in the world by Fifa.
Scotland, who are 41st in the rankings, come into the tournament on the back of two convincing friendly wins, coming from behind to beat Curacao 4-1 before defeating Bolivia 4-0 at Sports Illustrated Stadium in New Jersey.
While Scotland should edge Sunday’s encounter, Haiti may well get on the scoresheet and so backing both teams to score could prove a smart pick.
The Scots have kept just one clean sheet in eight while Haiti have failed to find the back of the net in only one of their last six matches.
Boasting Premier League experience upfront with Sunderland attacker Wilson Isidor leading the line, the Grenadiers could cause Scotland problems when going forward. The frontman has scored two in three games for Haiti.

Australia vs Turkey (Sunday, 5am)
Turkey were humbled 6-0 by Spain in World Cup qualifying last September but responded brilliantly, going unbeaten and winning seven of their last eight matches.
The Crescent-Stars will be confident of beating an Australia side who have lost four of their last seven matches and look the stronger of the two teams on paper.
While Turkey have scored four goals or more in wins over Bulgaria, Georgia and North Macedonia, the strong form of Vincenzo Montella’s men has been built on being solid at the back.
Keeping four clean sheets in six games, Turkey are difficult to score against while Australia have blanked in three of their last six matches. The Socceroos have netted more than one goal just once in eight games.
Backing Turkey to beat Australia to nil looks a wise bet for Sunday morning’s match.
