With eight points between themselves and safety and just three games of the season left to play, Leicester City are on the brink of relegation going into Wednesday’s home clash against Hull City.

Having played Premier League football last season, Leicester are on the verge of life in League One next term.

Hull are also in poor form but Wednesday’s game offers the Tigers an opportunity to turn things around and give their playoff hopes a significant boost.

Team news

Leicester have not reported any fresh injury concerns following their 1-0 defeat at the hands of Portsmouth at Fratton Park at the weekend.

Tuesday’s game will come too soon for the injured Ben Nelson, Caleb Okoli and Victor Kristiansen, but Jordan James could be set for a first start since a recent spell on the sidelines.

As for the Tigers, they too have no fresh injury concerns following a 1-1 draw with Birmingham City last time out.

The Tigers remain without Cody Drameh, Regan Slater, Ryan Giles and David Akintola but John Lundstram is set to be back in the fold after serving a suspension last time out.

The stats

Remarkably, Leicester City have managed to win just one of their last 17 games in the Championship, with their last victory having come against Bristol City on March 10th.

The Foxes have lost six of their last eight games at the King Power Stadium.

Hull are on a four-game winless run in the Championship, with three draws and one defeat in that time.

The Tigers earned a 2-1 win over the Foxes when these sides met at MKM Stadium earlier this season.

Prediction

With Hull City still in the mix for a top-six finish this season, the Tigers will know they need to pick up three points to keep chasers Wrexham and Derby County at bay.

Leicester suffered a hammer-blow with that defeat to Portsmouth and it looks like Hull can deliver the final nail in the coffin for Gary Rowett’s side on Tuesday night.

Hull came out on top in this fixture up in East Yorkshire earlier this season and it looks like they can edge another victory down in the East Midlands this week to condemn the Foxes to life in League One next season.
