With six games remaining in their Championship seasons, Bristol City and Sheffield United appear to have little to play for, but it is the home side who look the more likely winners when they meet at Ashton Gate on Monday.
The Robins have claimed just one point from their last five home matches, a run which went a long way toward manager Gerhard Struber being shown the door, and both of these teams have had disappointing campaigns having reached last season’s play-offs.
However, the appointment of veteran Roy Hodgson as manager until the end of the season may have galvanised City and the former England boss was able to get off to a winning start on Friday when his team claimed a 2-1 success at Charlton.
