'You never know' - Moises Caicedo follows Enzo Fernandez with Chelsea departure comments

Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo said "you never know" where he will end up in the future, in an interview with AS after being quizzed about Real Madrid links.
It's been an interesting week at Stamford Bridge, with Enzo Fernandez suspended by the club for two weeks after comments which seemed to suggest he wanted to move to Real Madrid, and Marc Cucurella admitting he's open to a return to Barcelona.
Caicedo has similarly been linked with a big Spanish side in Real, but when previously quizzed on those links, he stated his focus is on Chelsea, where he wants to become a legend.
Not long after, though, he's done little to downplay questions over his future, unsure on where he'll end up.
He told AS: “You never know in football, don’t you think? I have a contract with Chelsea now. The truth is, I haven’t honestly thought about another club, about leaving London, but well, in the end, you never know in football.
“All I want is to enjoy myself. I have a contract and I want to keep playing as long as God allows. After that, we’ll see what happens. I have a contract, but we’ll see what the future holds. Let’s see what surprises await us.”
Should Real land a new midfielder, it's unlikely they'll land a second for a huge sum, and with both Caicedo and Fernandez having commanded figures over £100million in the past, and both playing for the same club, it would take a huge sum to take either one, leaving little cash left to snare the other.
Why was Fernandez suspended?
Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior detailed his disappointment at comments made by Fernandez, in which he only actually suggested he'd like to live in Madrid, but amid constant links to Real, it's not a big jump to make the connection.
Fernandez said: “I don’t know, there are eight games left and then the FA Cup. Then there’s the World Cup, and then we’ll see.
“I’d like to experience, I don’t know, live there. I really like Madrid, it reminds me a lot of Buenos Aires.”
Rosenior responded when discussing the midfielder's suspension: “For Enzo, it’s disappointing to speak in that way. What I will say about Enzo is in terms of him as a character, as a person, I’ve got no bad words to say about him.
"But I think a line was crossed in terms of our culture and what we want to build. So we had to make a sanction and that was a decision we’ve made. The door is not closed on Enzo. That’s very important. It’s a sanction. You have to protect that culture. I think in terms of that, the line was crossed in the international break.”
Reports elsewhere suggest that while Fernandez has broken the trust of Chelsea, they are still willing to offer him a new contract, viewing him as one of the world's best midfielders.
He is one of a number of Chelsea players with a contract into the 2030s - Caicedo included - but the Blues are willing to offer a pay rise to keep him happy.
