Liverpool Transfer News: David Raum Emerges as Andy Robertson Replacement Target

Liverpool are eyeing up a move for RB Leipzig captain David Raum as they scour the market for an Andy Robertson replacement, according to TEAMtalk.
Robertson will leave the Premier League champions when his contract is up at the end of the season.
“Liverpool FC can confirm Andy Robertson will bring his Reds career to an end at the conclusion of the current season,” a statement read on the club’s official website last week.
“After nine hugely successful campaigns at Anfield, the Scotland captain will leave the club upon the expiry of his contract this summer.”
Robertson tipped for Tottenham move
The Scotland international is now being tipped to sign for Premier League rivals Tottenham on a free transfer.
Spurs were linked with a move for Robertson in January, but failed to lure the former Hull man away from Anfield.
Any move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is dependent on the club retaining their Premier League status.
Spurs sit two points off safety following their 1-0 loss to Sunderland on Sunday, a result that extended their winless run to 14 matches.
Raum a potential Robertson replacement
And Liverpool are tipped to make a move for Raum in the summer as they aim to add an experienced head to the squad.
However, the Reds aren’t the only side monitoring the 27-year-old with rivals Manchester United also said to be weighing up a move for the Germany international.
United are looking to bring in cover and competition for starting left-back Luke Shaw ahead of their expected return to the Champions League.
Michael Carrick’s side currently sit third in the Premier League and are well on course to secure a top-five finish, with fifth now enough to land a spot in Europe’s elite club competition.
Diomande another RB Leipzig star wanted by Reds
Liverpool, though, will hope to complete an RB Leipzig-double raid with winger Yan Diomande also high on the club’s wishlist.
The Ivory Coast international has been a revelation for the German giants following his arrival from Leganes last summer.
Diomande’s reputation has skyrocketed over the last 12 months, with RB Lepzig expected to make a substantial profit should they opt to cash in on the teenager this year.
Liverpool have supposedly earmarked the Ivorian wing-wizard as a replacement for Mohamed Salah, who will leave the club at the end of the season.
