Liverpool Have No Plans to Sell Dominik Szoboszlai Despite Real Madrid Interest

Liverpool have no plans to sell Dominik Szoboszlai this summer despite speculation linking the midfielder with a move to Real Madrid, reports TEAMtalk.

Szoboszlai has been a revelation for the Reds since joining from RB Leipzig in 2023 and his form for the defending Premier League champions has caught the eye of Los Blancos.

The all-action star has been a bright spark for the Merseyside giants despite an indifferent campaign under Arne Slot.

Szoboszlai's 'dream' revealed

Hungary head coach Marco Rossi recently fuelled speculation of a move to the Bernabeu suggesting that Szoboszlai’s ‘dream’ is to one day play for Real Madrid.

“Because of the very close and direct relationship I have with Dominik Szoboszlai since he started playing football as a child, Real Madrid has always been his dream,” Rossi said.

"I don't know if he'll be able to take that step, because the decision depends on him and also on his club.”

Rossi, though, was quick to add that he believes the Hungary captain may also renew his contract, adding: “I absolutely don't rule out the possibility of him staying at Liverpool and renewing his contract there, especially because he's highly valued within the club.”

Liverpool preparing contract offer for key midfielder

The Reds are believed to be preparing a new contract offer for the 25-year-old, who is currently tied down to Anfield in 2028.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, are expected to bolster their midfield in the summer with AZ Alkmaar’s rising star Kees Smit emerging as a potential target for the Spanish giants.

The teenager was linked with a move to Newcastle in January, while Liverpool are also reportedly keeping tabs on the young Dutchman.
