Liverpool and Man City Set to Battle Real Madrid for £60m Juventus Star Andrea Cambiaso

Premier League pair Liverpool and Manchester City are ready to rival Spanish giants Real Madrid in the race to land Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso, reports CaughtOffside.
City were heavily linked with a move for the Italian last summer but a move to the Etihad Stadium failed to come to fruition.
City to prioritise full-back this summer
However the Cityzens may return for the 26-year-old in the off season as they look to bolster their full-back options.
City are expected to make a move for a new right-back this summer, with Tino Livramento and Michael Kayode of Newcastle and Brentford, respectively, both reported targets for Pep Guardiola’s side.
Liverpool, meanwhile, would provide stiff competition in any push to sign Cambiaso with the Reds also tipped to prioritise the defence when the transfer window opens.
Reds prepared to rival City for Cambiaso
Injuries to Jeremie Frimpong and Conor Bradley has seen midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai deputise at right-back over the course of the campaign, while left-back Andy Robertson is expected to depart for pastures new once his contract comes to an end.
While another centre-back is top of the wishlist, this despite the Reds confirming that French centre-back Jeremy Jacquet will join in the summer, Liverpool are set to target another full-back.
Able to operate at both right and left-back, Cambiaso’s versatility is an appealing trait for the Premier League pair.
Real Madrid keen on Cambiaso
It’s also for this reason that Real Madrid have been credited with an interest in the Italy international as Los Blancos themselves seek to bolster at the back.
Midfielder-by-trade Federico Valverde has been required at right-back over the season due to injuries to Dani Carvajal and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The former, meanwhile, turned 34 last month, while the latter has made a sub-par start to life in Spain on the back of his arrival from Liverpool.
Juventus want to keep Cambiaso
Juventus are reluctant to cash in on Cambiaso, and it would take an offer in excess of £60m to convince the Old Lady to cash in on the defender.
Cambiaso will play no part for Juventus when they take on Galatasaray in the second leg of their Champions League playoff clash tonight.
The Serie A giants crashed to a 5-2 first leg loss in Turkey last week, though Cambiaso is suspended for the clash as Luciano Spalletti’s side look to overcome a three-goal deficit in Turin.
