Liverpool Lead Chelsea in €50m Race to Sign Real Madrid Star Eduardo Camavinga Amid Midfield Shake-Up

Liverpool lead Premier League rivals Chelsea in the race to sign Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga this summer, reports CaughtOffside.
Camavinga moved to Real Madrid in 2021 and was considered one of the most promising young stars in Europe at the time of his transfer to the Bernabeu.
The France international featured prominently under former Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti as he sought to realise his full potential.
Camavinga struggled for game time for Real Madrid
However, the 23-year-old found playing time hard to come by in the first half of the season under Xabi Alonso, as he made just five league starts prior to the Supercopa de Espana.
Alonso’s exit, though, saw Camavinga come back into favour in the Spanish capital, with the former Rennes man featuring frequently under Alvaro Arbeloa.
Even so, Real Madrid are prepared to entertain offers for Camavinga, with Liverpool and Chelsea prepared to part with €50m in order to sign the youngster.
Liverpool looking bolster midfield this summer
The Reds are expected to go big for a new midfielder in the summer as they look to bolster in the middle of the park.
Liverpool have been stretched in a key area, with Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch and Curtis Jones featuring frequently for Arne Slot’s side.
That said, Jones has a little over a year left to run on his current Liverpool deal and was linked with a move away from the club back in January.
Chelsea ready to rivals Reds for Frenchman
Central midfield is also a priority position for Chelsea, who have also been linked with a move for Crystal Palace star Adam Wharton this summer amidst concerns over Enzo Fernandez’s future at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues, however, are behind Liverpool in the race to sign Camavinga, with the defending Premier League champions said to have met with the player’s entourage on more than one occasion.
Both Liverpool and Chelsea were in league action on Saturday but endured a disappointing weekend having fallen to respective defeats.
Slot watched his team fall to a 2-1 loss at Brighton in Saturday’s lunchtime kick off, while Liam Rosenior’s side crashed to a 3-0 defeat at Everton in the evening clash.
