Chelsea want to sell Alejandro Garnacho less than a year after they signed him from Manchester United, reports talkSPORT.

Garnacho's United career went up in smoke after public comments about his role in the club's Europa League final loss. Following that, then-manager Ruben Amorim reportedly told him he'd better pray he could find a club to sign him.

Chelsea had been interested for some time, and scooped him for £40million, but the winger has not lived up to his price, with just one goal and four assists in the Premier League this season.

It's reported by talkSPORT that the Blues are now willing to sell Garnacho, coming to that decision after less than a year at the club for the Argentine.

Indeed, there's said to be an acceptance among the Chelsea hierarchy that the move isn't working.

There's no suggestion of what price the Stamford Bridge outfit would accept for the winger, but after he's struggled to perform for them, it might be that they have to accept less than they paid to get him off the books.

Reports elsewhere have suggested that Anthony Gordon is being lined up as Garnacho's replacement on Chelsea's left-wing.

Garnacho slammed twice

Two different members of the footballing media have slammed the Argentine of late. Manchester United legend Nicky Butt called him out for his behaviour at Old Trafford on his podcast, The Good, The Bad & The Football.

He said: "The best thing for me that Manchester United did was sell him because, forget his ability, I don't think he's that great anyway.

"However, his attitude for me was a disgrace when he was at United.

"That's why that happens when people post things like that [Luke Shaw on Instagram]. If you are in a changing room and you leave and completely disrespect your team-mates and football club.

"He'd have been taken out every single day in training. He'd have been put in his place very quickly with the likes of the players we got brought up with. Swatted down, taken out.

"He would've been treated really badly if he behaved like that, but he'd have learnt from it and got better."

Elsewhere, Daily Star journalist Jeremy Cross has taken a swipe at Garnacho.

He wrote: 'Alejandro Garnacho is the embodiment of young footballers these days: his ego is writing cheques his talent cannot cash.

'It’s difficult to find another footballer who has a greater sense of arrogance and entitlement than Garnacho. The embodiment of the modern-day footballer.'
