Xabi Alonso has made a great start to the season in charge of Real Madrid
  • Villarreal have won all four of their LaLiga home matches

  • Barcelona lead the goal charts with 22

  • Real Madrid have scored 11 times in their four away league games

Real Madrid will be hoping to boost their position at the top of the table this weekend against Getafe, while Barcelona also face a clash against local opponents when they continue their pursuit of Xabi Alonso’s side when they lock horns with Girona.

Real Oviedo vs Espanyol (Friday, 8pm)

Real Oviedo have had a struggle so far, losing six of their eight LaLiga matches and while Espanyol have failed to find the net in four of their last six matches, they could just have enough to claim three points.

Score prediction: Real Oviedo 0-1 Espanyol

Sevilla vs Mallorca (Saturday, 1pm)

Mallorca have yet to earn a point in four away games this term and this looks a difficult assignment against a Sevilla team who have lost just one of their last six. Expect a comfortable home win.

Score prediction: Sevilla 3-0 Mallorca

Barcelona vs Girona (Saturday, 3.15pm)

Barcelona are the top scorers in LaLiga with 22 goals this term and they should have few problems seeing off Girona, who make the short trip having scored just twice in four road outings.

Score prediction: Barcelona 3-0 Girona

Villarreal vs Real Betis (Saturday, 5.30pm)

Villarreal have a perfect home record, but Real Betis have the potential to push them all the way as they are unbeaten on the road and have won their last three games.

The Yellow Submarine’s run could come to an end in a draw.

Score prediction: Villarreal 1-1 Real Betis

Atletico Madrid vs Osasuna (Saturday, 8pm)

Atletico Madrid have had problems keeping clean sheets but they should be able to muster one against Osasuna, who have lost all four matches they have played on their travels and scored just one goal in that run.

Score prediction: Atletico Madrid 2-0 Osasuna

Elche vs Athletic Bilbao (Sunday, 1pm)

Elche suffered their first defeat of the season in their final game before the international break, but four of their eight games have been draws and they could share the spoils with Athletic Bilbao, who are level with their hosts on 13 points.

Score prediction: Elche 1-1 Athletic Bilbao

Celta Vigo vs Real Sociedad (Sunday, 3.15pm)

Celtia Vigo have yet to kickstart their season having drawn six of their opening eight matches and they could be in for another stalemate against Real Sociedad, who have won just one of their last nine in LaLiga.

Score prediction: Celta Vigo 1-1 Real Sociedad

Levante vs Rayo Vallecano (Sunday, 5.30pm)

It is worth taking a chance on Rayo Vallecano to come out on top here as they ended a six-match winless run with a 1-0 victory over Real Sociedad before the break.

Levante have claimed one point from three home games and may be vulnerable.

Score prediction: Levante 1-2 Rayo Vallecano

Getafe vs Real Madrid (Sunday, 8pm)

Real Madrid have scored 11 goals in their four away matches and it is difficult to see Getafe, who are winless in four, keeping them at bay.

This could be a profitable short trip for Los Blancos

Score prediction: Getafe 1-3 Real Madrid

Alaves vs Valencia (Monday, 8pm)

Valencia have conceded 14 goals in their eight matches and they could be on the end of an unfavourable result at Alaves, who should be boosted by their 3-1 victory over Elche.

Score prediction: Alaves 2-0 Valencia.
