We've got previews and predictions for all 12 matches from League One on Saturday, 25th April.
  • Bradford (3rd) and Bolton (4th) collide in a fixture that could have huge ramifications for this season’s playoff race.

  • Burton could secure their League One status with a win over fellow relegation contenders Exeter City.

  • Luton need a victory over visiting Barnsley at Kenilworth Road to prolong their playoff chase.

There is another complete set of 12 League One fixtures lined up on the EFL menu for Saturday April 25th, on what is the penultimate weekend of the 2025/26 campaign.

We ease into the action with two lunchtime appetisers, including Doncaster's encounter with Stevenage and Stockport's clash with Peterborough, before ten games follow in the traditional 3 pm slot.

Below, we’ve laid out snapshot previews with expert predictions for every single League One fixture on Saturday.

Doncaster Rovers vs Stevenage Borough (Saturday, 12:30 pm)

Doncaster couldn’t delay Lincoln’s title coronation on Tuesday evening, slipping to a 2-0 loss to the new League One champions, though they will hope for better in their final home fixture of the campaign on Saturday. Stevenage are in decent form, but are still prone to slip-ups on the road, where they have won only once in their last four attempts. Don’t be surprised if the spoils could be shared at the Eco Power Stadium.

Score prediction: Doncaster Rovers 1-1 Stevenage Borough

Stockport County vs Peterborough United (Saturday, 12:30 pm)

Stockport’s 1-0 defeat by Mansfield Town on Tuesday ended a seven-game unbeaten run in the league and was their first loss at home in 2026. Motivated by the need for playoff points, County can bounce back here, however. Peterborough have failed to win 11 of their last 12 league fixtures and have lost three of their last four away assignments.

Score prediction: Stockport County 2-1 Peterborough United

Blackpool vs Leyton Orient (Saturday, 3:00 pm)

Blackpool continued their late-season surge with a surprise 1-0 win at Wycombe last weekend, despite playing the last 20 minutes of that contest with ten men following Hayden Coulsen’s dismissal. Leyton Orient’s 2-0 loss at home to Rotherham a week ago was their third loss in four, and with relegation still a real possibility, they seem to be wilting under the pressure. Back Blackpool to prevail here.

Score prediction: Blackpool 1-0 Leyton Orient

Bradford City vs Bolton Wanderers (Saturday, 3:00 pm)

Third meets fourth when Bradford host Bolton in what should be a pivotal juncture in this season’s League One playoff race. Bradford have dropped points in each of their last three matches and two of those teams were also angling for playoff positions (Stevenage & Plymouth). Bolton have also failed to win three of their last four, so expect nerves, tension and possibly a point a piece at Valley Parade.

Score prediction: Bradford City 1-1 Bolton Wanderers

Burton Albion vs Exeter City (Saturday, 3:00 pm)

Burton picked up a useful point at Peterborough (1-1) last weekend and have now lost just twice in their last eight games in League One. Fellow relegation candidate Exeter have also been battling hard for survival, losing only once in five matches and earning a 3-3 draw with highflying Stockport in their last test. Albion have claimed seven points from the last nine on offer at home and another victory here would secure their L1 status. With home advantage key, Burton could be worth backing.

Score prediction: Burton Albion 1-0 Exeter City

Cardiff City vs Northampton Town (Saturday, 3:00 pm)

Already promoted Cardiff showed no mercy when they relegated Port Vale (1-0) on Wednesday evening and keen to sign off in style in their last home game of the season on Saturday, the Bluebirds can win again at bottom-club Northampton’s expense. The visiting Cobblers have lost eight league fixtures on the spin, so expect them to offer little resistance in Wales. Cardiff put three goals past Northampton (3-1) in November and they could produce something similar in Saturday’s rematch.

Score prediction: Cardiff City 3-0 Northampton Town

Huddersfield vs Mansfield (Saturday, 3:00 pm)

Huddersfield were denied a win by an equaliser in the 100th minute from Bolton (3-3) last weekend and that was the Terriers’ sixth draw in their last eight matches. A robust Mansfield, who have lost only one of their last 12, have also drawn six of their last nine away games in the division, and the Stags have the tools to frustrate Huddersfield in what is their host’s final outing at home before the summer.

Score prediction: Huddersfield 1-1 Mansfield

Lincoln City vs Wycombe Wanderers (Saturday, 3:00 pm)

Lincoln will be presented with the League One winner’s trophy on Saturday and the champions will be determined to put on a good show before getting their hands on silverware. Wycombe, who have lost three and drawn one of their last four games, are unlikely to offer much in the way of resistance. The Imps can win at home for the seventh time in a row on Saturday before kicking off their celebrations.

Score prediction: Lincoln City 2-0 Wycombe Wanderers

Luton Town vs Barnsley (Saturday, 3:00 pm)

Kasey Palmer’s first-half double secured three points for Luton at Rotherham (2-0) on Tuesday to keep the Hatters’ playoff dreams alive. Town need to be note perfect in the campaign’s final two games to make the cut, and with that motivation providing fuel, they can see off Barnsley. The Tykes have failed to win 90% of their last ten league fixtures and they look ill-equipped to stop Luton from winning a fifth home game on the trot.

Score prediction: Luton Town 2-0 Barnsley

Plymouth Argyle vs Port Vale (Saturday, 3:00 pm)

Four points outside the playoffs with two games left to contest, Plymouth’s fate is out of their hands, though they can hold up their end of the bargain by beating Port Vale. The visitors’ relegation was confirmed in their loss at Cardiff in midweek and Vale have lost eight of their 11 away games in League Two since Christmas Day overall. Argyle have been turned over just twice in their last nine matches at home, and their superior quality should eventually tell on Saturday.

Score prediction: Plymouth Argyle 2-0 Port Vale

Rotherham United vs Reading (Saturday, 3:00 pm)

Relegated Rotherham were outclassed by Luton (0-2) in midweek, though they have a chance to give their suffering supporters a decent sendoff in their last home game of the campaign against Reading on Saturday. The Royals have lost three games in succession and have little to play for, so motivation might be an issue at the AESSEAL New York Stadium. Back the Millers to grind out at least a point here.

Score prediction: Rotherham United 2-1 Reading

Wigan vs AFC Wimbledon (Saturday, 3:00 pm)

Wigan have lost only two of their last 12 games and have the luxury of playing their final two fixtures of the season without any relegation worries. Athletic have won four and drawn one of their last five home games and they will be determined to deliver something similar in this season’s final flourish at the Brick Community Stadium. Wimbledon are just two points above the relegation zone and are in dire need of a result, however, they have six matches in a row and are unlikely to stop the rot on Saturday.

Score prediction: Wigan 2-0 AFC Wimbledon
