With plenty at stake for all four teams, the second set of Group K fixtures is likely to be just as absorbing as the first. Portugal take on Uzbekistan at the NRG Stadium on Tuesday evening, before Colombia and DR Congo lock horns during the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Here are the best bets for the middle set of Group K games.
Best Bets
Portugal vs Uzbekistan (Tuesday, 6pm)
Following an underwhelming performance against DR Congo, Portugal will be desperate to produce a convincing victory on matchday two. However, the outcome of this one is far from inevitable.
The Asian minnows did not make things easy for Colombia, who found it difficult to break down their well-drilled opponents throughout a cagey first hour. Los Cafeteros' class eventually shone through, but Uzbekistan nevertheless gave a good account of themselves in Mexico City.
The White Wolves also demonstrated their considerable defensive capabilities during qualifying, which saw them successfully navigate two group stages en route to North America after conceding only 11 goals in their 16 qualifiers.
Having arrived at this World Cup with genuine hopes of going all the way, Portugal are suddenly staring down the barrel of a crisis.
Serious question marks are being raised about their ageing talisman Cristiano Ronaldo, who seems to be a shadow of his former self.
Those immediately behind Ronaldo lacked purpose and creativity during last Wednesday’s draw, while Portugal’s defence struggled to contain Congolese counter-attacks.
Expect the favourites to prevail, but Uzbekistan will put up a decent fight.
Score prediction: Portugal 2-0 Uzbekistan

Colombia vs DR Congo (Wednesday, 3am)
Colombia were good value for their victory over Uzbekistan, although a 3-1 scoreline was perhaps a little flattering.
After Daniel Munoz's first-half goal, the tie was levelled on the hour mark thanks to Abbosbek Fayzullaev’s close-range equaliser. However, the Colombians showed good character to bounce back in the closing stages.
A defining characteristic of Colombia’s qualification campaign was their ability to find the net, so do not be surprised if we see plenty of goalmouth action in this clash.
Argentina were the only team to score more goals in CONMEBOL qualifying, while Los Cafeteros scored 16 goals across their eight pre-tournament friendlies.
Few would have backed DR Congo to take a share of the spoils in their opening fixture, but the two-time AFCON champions were more than a match for a stuttering Portugal outfit.
Sebastien Desabre’s side could have easily claimed a victory after engineering plenty of positive attacking situations in an end-to-end second half.
However, with a place in the last 32 on the line, Colombia’s tournament know-how and superior experience could prove pivotal.
Score prediction: Colombia 3-1 DR Congo
