Arsenal legend Ian Wright has claimed the 2025-26 Gunners side will be "above the Invincibles" if they win all their remaining games this season.

Arsenal's dramatic victory over West Ham means they are back five points ahead of second-placed Manchester City in the Premier League title race. Wins in their remaining two games mean the Citizens won't be able to catch them, and the equation could be easier if Crystal Palace stunt Pep Guardiola's men in the week.

Arsenal left it late against the Hammers, with Leandro Trossard scoring in the 83rd minute, before an injury time goal from Hammers striker Callum Wilson was chalked off due to a foul on Gunners keeper David Raya.

The drama of the game and the general context of the season means Arsenal legend Wright feels the achievement of winning the remaining matches - which would confirm both the Premier League and Champions League titles - would put the achievement higher than the Invincibles of 2003-04.

He said on Sky Sports: "I would put them above the Invicibles simple because this team has got the capability of being invincible in the Champions League and to win the Premier League as well…

"As great as that Invincible team was and the individuals they had, this team will surpass them with what they’ve done because they will have done something that not even that great team did.

"They will need to get a lot of credit for that for what they’ve been through and the journey under this manager.

"They’re obviously playing a really good PSG side and it will be a battle of styles but they have got themselves there and they deserve to be there.

"They’ve built this squad and got the players on the bench to help finish games. They’ve done it all up until this point.

"If they can finish it off, which I’m praying they can, of course they have to go down as Arsenal’s best team in history."

Arsenal get first UCL chance since 05-06

Arsenal's upcoming Champions League final against holders Paris Saint-Germain is their first since the 2005-06 season, when they were beaten 2-1 by Barcelona.

Despite having to change their system and sub on a new goalkeeper after Jens Lehmann received a red card early on, the Gunners went in front in that game and held their lead until the 76th minute, and six minutes later they were 2-1 down.

They've only reached the semi-finals twice since then and this will be their first final in 20 years, and if they are to win the Premier League, they'll have confirmed that title a week before, which should give them huge confidence to attempt to turn over holders PSG.
