Juventus are considering a move for AC Milan shotstopper Mike Maignan when his contract expires next summer, reports Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport.
Maignan’s current deal runs until the end of the season and the France number one isn’t looking to extend his stay at the San Siro.
The 30-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Premier League side Chelsea over the summer as the Blues looked to bolster between the sticks.
In the end, Chelsea turned down the chance to sign Maignan as they failed to agree a fee with AC Milan for the former Lille star.
The expectation is that the Blues will return for the Frenchman either in January or in the summer when his current contracts ends.
Juventus considering summer move for Maignan
However, Chelsea would face competition from a host of Europe’s top sides, with Juventus among those keeping tabs on Maignan.
Juventus are expected to undergo a squad revamp in 2026 following the appointment of Luciano Spalletti as Old Lady boss.
The experienced Italian returned to club management at the end of October and penned a deal at the Juventus Stadium until the end of the season with the option to extend that contract beyond June 2026.
And Spalletti is looking to potentially strengthen his Juventus side between the sticks, though they would have to wait until the end of the season to convince Maignan to swap Milan for Turin.
Juventus boast one of the better defensive records in Serie A this season having conceded 10 league goals, the same as defending champions Napoli.
Di Gregorio likely to be ousted should Maignan sign
Italian Michele Di Gregorio is currently first choice for Juventus having joined from Monza last summer.
It remains to be seen, though, whether Spalletti completely trusts the 28-year-old as the Old Lady look to challenge for major domestic and European honours.
Maignan, who has shipped just eight goals in his 10 league outings this season, would be viewed as an upgrade on Di Gregorio for Juventus.
Spalletti has overseen back-to-back draws with Sporting and Torino having managed a 2-1 win at Cremonese in his first game as Juventus boss earlier this month.
