Celtic pipped long-time leaders Hearts to the Scottish Premiership crown a week ago and now the Bhoys are in search of a domestic double as they face Championship side Dunfermline Athletic in the Scottish Cup decider at Hampden Park.

The Glasgow side are strong favourites to atone for last year's shock penalty shootout loss to Aberdeen at this stage.

The Pars must pick themselves up after their promotion hopes were ended by Partick Thistle a week ago and they must stir themselves for this challenge.

In the dugouts, Celtic's Martin O'Neill faces what is likely to be his final game in charge and takes on his former captain and ex-Hoops boss Neil Lennon.

Team news

The Hoops captured the title last weekend in memorable fashion without the likes of Cameron Carter-Vickers, Tomas Cvancara, Colby Donovan, Julian Araujo, Kasper Schmeichel and Jota due to injuries. All remain out, though no fresh concerns emerged.

Full-back Marcelo Saracchi impressed after replacing Kieran Tierney, while both Kelechi Iheanacho and Callum Osmand enjoyed fine cameos off the bench too. All three will be eager for game time.

Dunfermline are set to restore goalkeeper Aston Oxborough. He was recalled by parent club Motherwell for their final day game at Hibs – though only for the bench – and Pars boss Lennon admitted Billy Terrell 'has to look at himself' for both of Partick Thistle's goal in the play-off loss.

Lennon also counts Graham Carey, Freddie Turley, Zak Rudden, Olly Thomas and Ewan Otoo amongst his absentees against his former club.

The stats

Dunfermline have taken three Premiership scalps as they beat Queen of The South, Hibernian, Kelty Hearts, Aberdeen and Falkirk to reach the final.

Celtic have dismissed Auchinleck Talbot, Dundee, Rangers and St Mirren to reach the Scottish Cup decider.

Both teams scored in eight of Celtic's last nine Scottish Premiership wins.

The Hoops have one clean sheet in 10 league and cup games since their penalty shootout win over Rangers in the quarter-finals.

The Pars have won just two of their last 10 league and cup games (90 minutes).

Daizen Maeda has scored eight goals in Celtic's last six games.

Prediction

O'Neill has guided Celtic over the finish line in a title race that seemed beyond them for so much of the season.

The veteran boss twice returned to the Parkhead hotseat when called after Brendan Rodgers and Wilfried Nancy made their exits and, while the football has been turgid by past standards, O'Neill's place in Bhoys folklore has been further embellished with the most unlikely and therefore sweetest of successes.

It seems sure this will be his final game as Celtic boss and in his way is former Hoops captain and manager Lennon.

The Northern Irish pair have worked well together often, but now Lennon's challenge is to derail O'Neill's farewell.

He spoke this week of the lack of respect for Dunfermline, with talk of his old boss lifting the cup alongside skipper Callum McGregor.

They have eliminated three Premiership sides along the way, but the Pars may come up short here.

Celtic's propensity for conceding means they had to win their final three league games after falling 1-0 down to Rangers, Motherwell and Hearts.

There is an incredible winning mentality inside their dressing room and they should see the job out, though a sixth successive 90-minute win in which both teams have scored does make appeal from a punting perspective as opposed to the 2/11 Celtic victory with LiveScore Bet.
