The Premier League takes a back seat for the international break next weekend so all parties should be focused on signing off on a positive note in gameweek 11.

There are five matches scheduled on Saturday, including three televised fixtures headlined by Tottenham at home to Manchester United, while a title showdown between Manchester City and Liverpool takes centre stage from Sunday’s five remaining matches.

The unforgiving winter schedule looms and we have picked out some standout team news for the weekend's key fixtures.

Tottenham vs Manchester United (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Tottenham had Manchester United’s measure last season, winning all four of their matches which included ending a 17-year trophy drought with a 1-0 victory over the Red Devils in the Europa League final.

Manchester United have not beaten Tottenham since recording a 2-0 victory in the Premier League at Old Trafford in October 2022, but they may not get a better chance to stop the rot.

Spurs continue to be depleted by injuries. James Maddison, Dominic Solanke, Dejan Kulusevski, Radu Dragusin, Kota Takai, Ben Davies, Yves Bissouma and Archie Gray are all out indefinitely while Lucas Bergvall remains unavailable due to concussion protocols.

If matters were not bad enough, Thomas Frank will have to make a late decision over the fitness of Mohammed Kudus.

United, in stark contrast, are nearly at full health with Lisandro Martinez their only confirmed absentee.

Sunderland vs Arsenal (Saturday, 5.30pm)

Arsenal continue to churn out wins and the Premier League leaders will be looking to make it 11 on the spin in all competitions when they head to the Stadium of Light.

However, Sunderland remain unbeaten at home in five top-flight matches since securing promotion from the Championship and the Gunners do have injuries to contend with in forward areas.

Victor Gyokeres has recently joined Gabriel Martinelli, Noni Madueke, Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus and Martin Odegaard on the sidelines, so talisman Bukayo Saka and reliable stand-in Mikel Merino will have key roles to play.

Sunderland captain Granit Xhaka, who spent seven years at the Emirates, will be keen to impress against his former club although the Black Cats will be without Omar Alderete, Aji Alese, Dennis Cirkin, Romaine Mundle, Leo Hjelde and Habib Diarra.

Nottingham Forest vs Leeds (Sunday, 2pm)

This is a crunch clash towards the bottom of the Premier League table and Leeds, despite having lost four of their five away games, could have been given a lift ahead of their trip to the City Ground.

Having been introduced from the bench in recent weeks, Daniel Farke has confirmed that Dan James is back and ready to start again while Wilfried Gnonto has been back in training for two full weeks and is nearing a return.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is not yet in team training but Farke says he will continue to monitor the situation in the coming days, leaving teenage talent Harry Gray as the only confirmed absentee.

Forest, on the other hand, remain without Ola Aina, Douglas Luiz, Dilane Bakwa and Oleksandr Zinchenko while Chris Wood is a doubt.

However, minutes in the Europa League away at Sturm Graz on Thursday should see Callum Hudson-Odoi, James McAtee and Arnaud Kalimuendo involved.
