Manchester City continue their pursuit of leaders Arsenal in the Premier League when they host Fulham on Wednesday.

City ensured the gap at the top stayed at six points with a dramatic victory at Liverpool on Sunday and they can halve the deficit by seeing off the Cottagers in midweek, before the Gunners are in action against Brentford on Thursday.

Going into this week's fixtures in the top flight, Fulham are 10th following back-to-back defeats to Manchester United and Everton and they have an awful record against City.

Team news

Pep Guardiola remains without Jeremy Doku, Savinho, Josko Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic, with the quartet absent due to injury or fitness issues.

Abdukodir Khusanov is available after he came off against Liverpool with concussion and fellow defender John Stones is back after a spell on the sidelines.

Sasa Lukic and Tom Cairney are absent for Fulham, while recent signing from City, Oscar Bobb, could be in line for his first start for the Cottagers against his former club.

The stats

City have won nine of their 12 home league games this season, losing just once, to Tottenham, and drawing with Brighton and Chelsea.

City held on to win 5-4 in the reverse clash at Craven Cottage in December when Fulham scored three times in the final 35 minutes.

Fulham's last win over City came in April 2009.

City have won the last 19 meetings between the sides in all competitions — the longest winning run one side has had against another in English football history.

Guardiola's side have only kept one clean sheet in their last six league games.

Fulham have failed to score in just four of their 25 league games this season.

Prediction

City produced a stunning late fightback to win at Anfield on Sunday and it was the sort of result that could now propel them on a title charge.

The Citizens can at least close the gap on Arsenal to three points and put pressure on the Gunners before they travel to Brentford on Thursday.

Guardiola's side should overpower the Cottagers, feeding off the optimism generated by Sunday's success, while further damaging the visitors' hopes of finishing in the top six.

Marco Silva's side were looking good for a tilt at the European places at the start of the year but a run of three defeats in their last four games has halted their progress.

City's inability to regularly keep clean sheets, coupled with Fulham's attacking prowess means they look capable of scoring at the Etihad, contributing to what looks set to be an entertaining clash that goes in the hosts' favour.
