Michael Carrick Makes Mason Mount Transfer Decision as Man Utd Receive Summer Enquiries

Michael Carrick is determined to keep Mason Mount at Manchester United this summer despite the club fielding a number of enquiries for the midfielder, reports TEAMtalk.
United’s priority in the off-season is to strengthen the midfield with the Premier League side closing in on the signing of Andrey Santos from Chelsea.
Ederson is another who was expected to secure a switch to Old Trafford, though issues with his medical means the deal is currently hanging in the balance.
Their respective arrivals would push Mount further down the pecking order.
United keen to keep Mount
The 27-year-old has endured an injury-hit spell in Manchester following his arrival from Chelsea back in 2023
Mount did make 12 league starts last season, the first time he has hit double figures since joining three years ago.
And despite his lack of regular game time since joining United, the Premier League side are not willing to entertain his sale despite interest from England and abroad.
That’s because head coach Carrick is believed to be a huge admirer of Mount and views the player as a key man in the United squad.
Carrick wants to strengthen further
Even so, United are expected to add further midfield bodies to the squad while the summer transfer window is open.
Casemiro’s exit and Manuel Ugarte’s injury leaves Carrick short of senior central midfield options.
United have been left frustrated in their efforts to bring in new players, with Elliot Anderson and Mateus Fernandes rejecting moves to the club, instead opting to sign for Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur, respectively.
Alex Scott is another that has been linked with a move to United, though Bournemouth are adamant the 22-year-old is not going anywhere this summer.
