Frank Lampard's Coventry City are nine points clear at the top of the Championship standings.
  • Coventry are unbeaten in their last nine home fixtures

  • Sheffield Wednesday have gone 22 home games without keeping a clean sheet

  • Sheffield United have gone 24 matches without drawing on their travels

Coventry have opened up a 10-point lead at the top of the Championship and will be aiming for another maximum return when they host out-of-sorts Charlton at the CBS Arena.

Meanwhile, closest chasers Stoke and Middlesbrough face home fixtures against Hull and Derby respectively.

Here are our score predictions for all 12 games in the second tier this weekend.

Oxford vs Ipswich (Friday, 8pm)

Ipswich made six changes for Tuesday’s 2-0 win at Hull and their squad depth could be key to defeating third-bottom Oxford, who are winless in five.

Score prediction: Oxford 0-2 Ipswich

Leicester vs Sheffield United (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Sheffield United have hauled themselves out of the relegation zone and they can share the points with inconsistent Leicester, who may not be fully recovered from Tuesday’s 3-0 loss away to Southampton.

Score prediction: Leicester 1-1 Sheffield United

Portsmouth vs Bristol City (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Portsmouth continue to struggle on their travels, but they have taken four points from the last two home games and can see off injury-hit Bristol City, who have lost three of their last five fixtures.

Score prediction: Portsmouth 2-1 Bristol City

Stoke vs Hull (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Stoke rose to second after a convincing 3-0 victory at home to Charlton and they can topple the Tigers, who have dropped from fifth to 11th after back-to-back defeats.

Score prediction: Stoke 2-1 Hull

Coventry vs Charlton (Saturday, 3pm)

Taking on Coventry is a tough gig at the best of times and it may turn into a damage limitation exercise for out-of-form Charlton, who have lost three on the bounce.

Score prediction: Coventry 2-0 Charlton

Middlesbrough vs Derby (Saturday, 3pm)

Kim Hellberg will be hoping for a victory in his first match as Middlesbrough head coach but he may have to settle for a draw against Derby, who have won six of their last seven fixtures.

Score prediction: Middlesbrough 1-1 Derby

Millwall vs Southampton (Saturday, 3pm)

Southampton are full of confidence after a four-game winning streak but they may be forced to accept a draw against Millwall, who are unbeaten in their last five home fixtures.

Score prediction: Millwall 1-1 Southampton

Norwich vs QPR (Saturday, 3pm)

Norwich picked up their first home point of the season in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw at home to Oxford, but they are having a miserable time and could struggle against play-off-chasing QPR, who are targeting a third successive win.

Score prediction: Norwich 1-3 QPR

Sheffield Wednesday vs Preston (Saturday, 3pm)

Preston impressed in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw at Watford and they can follow with a win over Sheffield Wednesday, who are still awaiting their first home victory of the campaign.

Score prediction: Sheffield Wednesday 0-2 Preston

West Brom vs Swansea (Saturday, 3pm)

West Brom were pegged back in Wednesday’s 1-1 draw at home to Birmingham but they can round off the week with a win over struggling Swansea, who are on a four-game losing sequence.

Score prediction: West Brom 2-0 Swansea

Wrexham vs Blackburn (Saturday, 3pm)

Wrexham are quietly inching their way into the promotion race and they can wrap up a six-point week at the expense of Blackburn, who have lost nine of 16 league fixtures.

Score prediction: Wrexham 2-1 Blackburn

Birmingham vs Watford (Monday, 8pm)

Birmingham are a tough proposition at St Andrew’s but they could be held by improving Watford, who are on a five-game unbeaten run.

Score prediction: Birmingham 1-1 Watford
