Arsenal take on Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final at the Puskas Arena in Budapest on Saturday evening, 20 years after last reaching the European showpiece.

The Gunners lifted the Premier League title for the first time since 2004 this season and are now aiming for European success and a famous double.

However, PSG are formidable opposition and can themselves make history by joining the pantheon of the greats to have lifted the Champions League trophy in consecutive seasons following last year's triumph.

Team news

PSG wing-back Achraf Hakimi has not played since the 5-4 semi-final first-leg win over Bayern Munich and remains a significant doubt with a thigh problem, but forward Ousmane Dembele has been passed fit to start

Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya is expected to be available following a minor back issue, but Jurrien Timber faces a race against time to be fit after eight weeks on the sidelines.

Noni Madueke should be fit following a recent hamstring scare, but defender Ben White is out with a knee injury.

The stats

PSG are the top-scoring team in the Champions League this season, netting 44 goals in 16 matches.

Arsenal are unbeaten in this season's Champions League, winning 11 of their 14 games.

PSG are aiming to win consecutive Champions League titles following last year's final win over Inter Milan – only Real Madrid have won the tournament in consecutive seasons (2016, 2017 and 2018) this century.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has played for both clubs, making 53 appearances for PSG between 2001 and 2002.

PSG and Arsenal met in last season's Champions League semi-finals, with the French side winning 3-1 on aggregate.

Prediction

PSG are slight favourites to win the Champions League, but Arsenal will be no pushovers in Saturday's final.

The Ligue 1 champions produced some stunning football to get the better of Bayern in the semi-finals and already have the experience of winning the tournament last season.

Arsenal will be full of confidence after clinching a first Premier League title since 2004, but they arguably do not possess the same level of supreme quality as PSG, so European glory may evade the Gunners on this occasion.

While PSG are expected to win, Luis Enrique's side have conceded in four of their last six matches and so a clean sheet appears unlikely against a team like Arsenal.

The Gunners have drawn a blank just once since the start of April and, having shared the goals around with 12 different scorers in the Champions League this season, Arteta's men should be able to find the net at the Puskas Arena.
