  • Liverpool host PSG, hoping to overturn 2-0 deficit; Arsenal are 1-0 up against Sporting

  • Barcelona trail Atletico Madrid 2-0 from first leg

  • Bayern Munich have 2-1 advantage over Real Madrid

Semi-final places are up for grabs in the Champions League this week with Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich all leading from their quarter-final first legs.

Liverpool, Sporting CP, Barcelona and Real Madrid must all attempt to recover in four huge ties on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Atletico Madrid vs Barcelona (first leg: 2-0, Tuesday, 8pm)

Atletico Madrid took advantage of Barcelona's Pau Cubarsi being sent off to win 2-0 at Camp Nou - their first win at the famous stadium since 2006 - and now they will look to finish the job at home.

Diego Simeone made 10 changes for Saturday's 2-1 LaLiga defeat to Sevilla as he rested his key players for the second leg and he will hope it now pays off when Barca go to the Metropolitano.

It was only two months ago Atleti hammered the Catalan giants 4-0 at home in the Copa del Rey but they will be fearing a Barca comeback on Tuesday.

However, Simeone's side can stand firm and progress to the last four.

Score prediction: Atletico Madrid 2-2 Barcelona

Liverpool vs Paris Saint-Germain (first leg: 0-2, Tuesday, 8pm)

Liverpool have it all to do to avoid going out of the Champions League to PSG for a second year running after being outplayed in Paris last week.

PSG should have a more commanding lead to take to Anfield as they missed plenty of chances at home and they will be wary of Arne Slot's side producing a stirring fightback from 2-0 down.

Liverpool may well win the second leg but it is unlikely to be enough to see them go through.

Score prediction: Liverpool 2-1 Paris Saint-Germain

Arsenal vs Sporting CP (first leg: 1-0, Wednesday, 8pm)

Arsenal's Premier League title ambitions were hit by Saturday's shock 1-0 home defeat to Bournemouth but the Gunners must quickly forget about that and focus on making the last four in Europe.

Mikel Arteta's side are stumbling under pressure from Manchester City domestically but they should have too much quality for Sporting in the second leg as they look to protect and extend a 1-0 first-leg lead.

Score prediction: Arsenal 2-0 Sporting CP

Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid (first leg: 2-1, Wednesday 8pm)

Bayern produced an excellent away performance to win 2-1 at the Bernabeu so they are big favourites to qualify for the semis as they look to go on and win the Champions League for the first time since 2020.

Writing Real Madrid off in this competition is not advisable as the record 15-time European champions relish these sorts of occasions.

However, Bayern are on a 15-game unbeaten run in all competitions, winning 13, so should be trusted to avoid defeat on Wednesday.

Score prediction: Bayern Munich 1-1 Real Madrid.
