Harry Kane will be taking aim against Eintracht Frankfurt in week 23 of the Bundesliga season
  • RB Leipzig will be chasing down their sixth successive win over Dortmund at the Red Bull Arena on Saturday evening.

  • Champions and title favourites Bayern Munich will be looking to add to their 82 league goals for the campaign when they host Eintracht Frankfurt.

  • A genuine relegation six-pointer takes place at the Millerntor-Stadion on Sunday when St. Pauli (17th) take on Werder Bremen (18th).

Game week 23 of the 2025/26 Bundesliga campaign kicks off with its regular Friday evening entry when Mainz and Hamburg collide at the MEWA Arena.

On Saturday, five more fixtures follow, including Bayern Munich’s skirmish with Eintracht Frankfurt, plus the televised 5:30 pm tussle between RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund.

A day later, there are three games on the bill, starting with Freiburg’s encounter with struggling Gladbach and finishing with bottom-club Heidenheim’s meeting with top-four chasers, Stuttgart.

We’ve got betting tips and predictions for all nine Bundesliga fixtures from week 23 of the 2025/26 season below.

Mainz vs Hamburg (Friday, 7:30pm)

Mainz’s three-game winning streak came to an unceremonious end at Dortmund last week (0-4). Defender Stefan Bell had to come off with a first-half injury in that loss, while wingback Silvan Widmer picked up a suspension-triggering yellow card, leaving Mainz short at the back for the visit of Hamburg.

Hamburg’s 3-2 win over Union Berlin last time out moved them up into the table’s top half, and Merlin Polzin’s side are unbeaten in five matches overall Hamburg dominated in October’s reverse fixture against Mainz (4-0), and they have a chance to claim at least a point here.

Score prediction: Mainz 2-2 Hamburg

Bayern Munich vs Eintracht Frankfurt (Saturday, 2:30pm)

Bayern Munich cruised to a 3-0 victory at Werder Bremen in their last assignment and the free-scoring champions have now hit an incredible 82 goals in just 22 Bundesliga fixtures since August. They beat Eintracht (3-0) by the same scoreline in Frankfurt in October and should be just as comfortable on Saturday.

Frankfurt enjoyed a first win under new hire Albert Riera against Gladbach (3-0) last weekend, however, they conceded 20 shots in that triumph, while racking up just 12 attempts themselves. If they are similarly open at the back again in Munich, they will be punished.

Score prediction: Bayern Munich 3-0 Eintracht Frankfurt

FC Koln vs Hoffenheim (Saturday, 2:30pm)

Koln are in danger of being sucked into a relegation battle following a poor run of three defeats in four matches. They were competitive for most of last week’s 3-1 loss at Stuttgart before shipping two late goals, though confidence in their camp still seems to be dipping.

Hoffenheim meanwhile, bounced back from their heavy defeat to Bayern with an impressive showing against Freiburg (3-0). They controlled 61% possession and mustered 25 shots in that win and they might have too much creativity in the final third for Koln.

Score prediction: FC Koln 1-2 Hoffenheim

Union Berlin vs Bayer Leverkusen (Saturday, 2:30pm)

Union Berlin’s search for a first win since the end of the winter break went on last weekend when they lost a five-goal thriller to Hamburg. The Iron Ones have now dropped 11 of the last 12 points on offer and have failed to win seven Bundesliga fixtures on the spin overall.

Bayer Leverkusen look well-positioned to prolong their hosts’ misery. Die Werkself produced a professional performance to beat Olympiacos in the UCL Playoffs in midweek, thanks to a brace from Patrik Schick. Bayer have won six of their last seven matches in all competitions overall and they can continue to build momentum on Saturday.

Score prediction: Union Berlin 1-2 Bayer Leverkusen

Wolfsburg vs Augsburg (Saturday, 2:30pm)

Wolfsburg escaped with a point at RB Leipzig last week to snap a run of three straight defeats, though they did allow Die Roten Bullen to have 20 shots and 10 attempts on target in that draw, and they could be exposed defensively by Augsburg.

The visitors’ 1-0 victory over Heidenheim last time out was their third win in four assignments. Augsburg have also won four of their last five meetings with Wolfsburg, so they should have the impetus to push for a positive result again at the Volkswagen Arena.

Score prediction: Wolfsburg 1-2 Augsburg

RB Leipzig vs Borussia Dortmund (Saturday, 5:30pm)

Fifth meets second on Saturday evening when RB Leipzig host Dortmund in what is arguably the game of the weekend in Germany. Leipzig have enjoyed a week’s rest between games, while their opponents have been busier and might be fatigued from Tuesday’s efforts against Atalanta (2-0) in the Champions League.

Dortmund have only lost one Bundesliga away game this term, though the Red Bull Arena is a bogey ground for them, and they have been turned over in each of their last five visits to that venue. RB Leipzig should have extra energy to harness here, and that could earn them a statement win.

Score prediction: RB Leipzig 3-2 Borussia Dortmund

Freiburg vs Borussia Monchengladbach (Sunday, 2:30pm)

Head Coach Eugen Polanski is reportedly on the verge of the sack at Gladbach another poor result on Sunday could be the tipping point. Die Fohlen limped to a 3-0 loss at Frankfurt when last seen and have now failed to win 10 of their last 11 Bundesliga fixtures since mid-November,

Circumstances look favourable for Freiburg here then. They lost heavily at highflying Hoffenheim (0-3) in their last assignment, but remain formidable at home, where they have won five of their last six league games. They can harness the energy at the Europa-Park Stadion to good effect again on Sunday.

Score prediction: Freiburg 2-1 Borussia Monchengladbach

St Pauli vs Werder Bremen (Sunday, 4:30pm)

Two of the division’s bottom three clubs face off at the Millerntor-Stadion on Sunday in what could be a pivotal juncture in this season’s race for survival. St. Pauli showed bite in their last home game when they upset the odds to beat Stuttgart (2-1) and they will be targeting something similar here.

Werder Bremen meanwhile, are winless in 12 attempts in the Bundesliga, losing eight times along the way, while they failed to score in each of their last four tussles on the road. St. Pauli are in the midst of a four-game unbeaten streak on their own patch, so back them to secure a defining result.

Score prediction: St Pauli 1-0 Werder Bremen

FC Heidenheim vs Stuttgart (Sunday, 6:30pm)

Rock-bottom Heidenheim continue to look well below the required standard and they lost their 15th Bundesliga fixture of the season a week ago when they were edged out by Augsburg (0-1). Frank Schmidt’s side have extracted just two of the last 27 points on offer and already look doomed.

Anything other than a win for visiting top-four hopefuls Stuttgart would be seen as a serious misstep. Fatigue could be an issue following their Europa League exploits against Celtic on Thursday evening, though Stuttgart should still have enough in reserve to win for the fourth time in five Bundesliga away fixtures.

Score prediction: FC Heidenheim 0-1 Stuttgart
