Bayern Munich lost their first league game of the season last weekend, but remain eight points clear at the summit.
Eintracht Frankfurt could have Albert Riera in place as their new coach for the visit of Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday.
High-flying Hoffenheim (3rd) are chasing a fifth win in a row when they host Union Berlin on Saturday.
Game week 20 of the 2025/26 Bundesliga campaign starts on Friday evening, when Koln and Wolfsburg collide at the RheinEnergieStadion, while six more games follow on Saturday’s fixture slate.
Included there is Augsburg’s encounter with relegation rivals St. Pauli and Eintracht Frankfurt’s tussle with Bayer Leverkusen, while Bayern Munich have an unbeaten away record to protect when they visit Hamburg in the evening kick off.
On Sunday, Stuttgart will be aiming to power their pursuit of a top-four finish with a win over Freiburg, before Dortmund aim to harness home advantage against bottom club Heidenheim.
FC Koln vs Wolfsburg (Friday, 7:30pm)
Wolfsburg have failed to win four of their last five Bundesliga assignments and conceded three or more goals in three of the same matches. Their leakiness could be their undoing again here.
FC Koln registered 19 shots in their unfortunate 2-1 loss at Freiburg last week and another 20 when they beat Mainz in their last home game. They are creating enough chances to outgun Die Wolfe on Friday.
Score prediction: FC Koln 2-1 Wolfsburg
Augsburg vs St Pauli (Saturday, 2:30pm)
Interim Augsburg manager Michael Baum masterminded a 2-1 win over Bayern Munich last weekend to inflict the champion’s first domestic loss of the campaign. Buoyed by that unexpected triumph, Augsburg look decently-positioned to record back-to-back wins for the first time this season on Saturday.
Visiting St. Pauli have claimed just two of the 12 points on offer since the end of the winter break and they have already lost 70% of their ten away fixtures in the Bundesliga since August.
Score prediction: Augsburg 2-1 St Pauli
Eintracht Frankfurt vs Bayer Leverkusen (Saturday, 2:30pm)
Frankfurt are hoping to appoint Albert Riera before Saturday’s tussle with Leverkusen, which should give the game an extra edge. With the new manager bounce giving the hosts renewed enthusiasm, Die Adler could go toe-to-toe with visiting Bayer.
Leverkusen’s results on the road have been mixed this season (four wins in eight), though their away games have been averaging 3.75 goals and Saturday’s test could be similarly exciting.
Score prediction: Eintracht Frankfurt 2-2 Bayer Leverkusen
Hoffenheim vs Union Berlin (Saturday, 2:30pm)
Red-hot Hoffenheim showed character to beat Werder Bremen (2-0) last weekend, despite playing more than half an hour with ten men. That was their fourth successive victory in the Bundesliga following fine results against Gladbach (5-1), Leverkusen (1-0) and Eintracht Frankfurt (3-1).
Union Berlin meanwhile, are in the midst of a four-game winless run and they were dismantled by Dortmund (3-0) in their last outing. Hoffenheim won the reverse fixture against Union 4-2 and they should be in command again on Saturday.
Score prediction: Hoffenheim 3-1 Union Berlin
RB Leipzig vs Mainz 05 (Saturday, 2:30pm)
Mainz have tightened up since the appointment of Swiss coach Urs Fischer in December and have lost only once in eight league matches since his arrival. Their 3-1 comeback win over Wolfsburg last weekend would have been a major confidence booster.
RB Leipzig have lost two of their last three games at home and they have lost two and drawn one of their last three meetings with Mainz at the Red Bull Arena. The dogged visitors could dig in for a point in this one.
Score prediction: RB Leipzig 1-1 Mainz 05
Werder Bremen vs Borussia Monchengladbach (Saturday, 2:30pm)
Werder Bremen haven’t won any of their last nine games in the Bundesliga in a dismal run that stretches all the way back to early November. They did, however, secure their biggest win of the campaign when they hammered Gladbach 4-0 in the reverse meeting between the clubs in September.
That result and performance could allow Werder to approach Saturday’s assignment with confidence. Gladbach have lost two of their last three games and they conceded five (5-1 vs Hoffenheim) and three goals (3-0 vs Stuttgart) in those defeats.
Score prediction: Werder Bremen 2-1 Borussia Monchengladbach
Hamburger SV vs Bayern Munich (Saturday, 5:30pm)
Bayern Munich named Harry Kane, Serge Gnabry, Michael Olise and Manuel Neuer on the bench for their midweek Champions League win at PSV on Wednesday evening, and with their stars rested, they should have too much energy and quality for Hamburger.
The hosts are still searching for their first win since the winter break and managed to net just twice in their last four league fixtures combined. Bayern Munich cantered to a 5-0 win over Hamburg in September, and keen to rebound from last weekend’s shock loss to Augsburg, the champions should be comfortable again.
Score prediction: Hamburger SV 0-3 Bayern Munich
VfB Stuttgart vs Freiburg (Sunday, 2:30pm)
Aided by an 11th goal of the season from leading marksman Deniz Undav, Stuttgart (5th) stormed to a 3-0 win at Gladbach last weekend, taking their recent tally up to ten points from the last 12 on offer.
Freiburg, who sit just two places below their hosts in the table, travel to the MHP Arena in similarly good form, having won four of their last six games in all competitions. Freiburg’s trek to France to play Lille in the Europa League on Thursday evening should sap their energy levels however, and Stuttgart could take advantage.
Score prediction: VfB Stuttgart 3-1 Freiburg
Borussia Dortmund vs FC Heidenheim (Sunday, 2:30pm)
Dortmund had to be content with a place in the playoff positions in midweek when they lost their last UCL league phase fixture at home to Inter (0-2), however, a date with rock-bottom Heidenheim looks like the perfect bounce-back fixture.
Heidenheim were outclassed by RB Leipzig (0-3) last time out and seven of their last nine away games in the division ended in defeat. They mustered just seven shots in that reverse against Leipzig and they lack the quality to threaten Dortmund on Sunday.
Score prediction: Borussia Dortmund 3-0 FC Heidenheim
