Heidenheim’s relegation to Germany’s second tier will be confirmed on Saturday if they lose at champions Bayern Munich.
Werder Bremen can cement their Bundesliga status for another year with a win at home to Augsburg.
RB Leipzig can seal Champions League qualification if they can manufacture a victory at Bayer Leverkusen.
With the usual Friday evening appetiser off the menu, week 32 of the 2025/26 Bundesliga campaign begins with a six-fixture flurry on Saturday, with the televised clash between Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig the pick of the action.
On Sunday, there are three more games on the agenda, including St. Pauli vs Mainz, Gladbach vs Borussia Dortmund and Freiburg against relegation-threatened Wolfsburg.
We’ve got full coverage of all nine matches from week 32 of the Bundesliga season below, with score predictions for each fixture included.
Bayern Munich vs Heidenheim (Saturday, 2:30 pm)
Vincent Kompany made eight changes to his Bayern Munich team for last weekend’s trip to Mainz and his team reshuffle almost backfired. The champions were three down at half time before the introduction of Harry Kane, Michael Olise and Jamal Musiala for the second 45 inspired a remarkable comeback victory for the Bavarians (4-3). Kompany is likely to ring the changes again on Saturday following Bayern’s thrilling Champions League semi-final against PSG (4-5) in Paris in midweek.
Goals from Budu Zivzivadze and Eren Dinkçi helped Heidenheim secure a vital 2-0 victory over fellow strugglers St. Pauli last weekend, when a defeat there would have confirmed their relegation. However, they have been staving off the inevitable for a while now and a loss at the Allianz Arena would seal their fate. Heidenheim have lost five of their last six away assignments and even a much-changed Bayern Munich XI should be too strong for them.
Score prediction: Bayern Munich 4-1 Heidenheim
Eintracht Frankfurt vs Hamburg (Saturday, 2:30 pm)
Ritsu Dōan came off the bench to score a crucial equaliser for Eintracht Frankfurt against Augsburg last weekend, in a clash that really could have gone either way. Die Adler are still chasing continental qualification, though they have collected just five points from their last five Bundesliga fixtures. However, a date on home soil with struggling Hamburg look like a decent opportunity for Albert Riera’s charges to secure a much-needed victory.
Hamburg are still uncomfortably close to the drop zone and their return of four defeats and a draw in their last five matches could make for a nervy climax to the campaign. Merlin Polzin’s side has looked particularly vulnerable on the road and Hamburg have shipped 3+ goals in each of their last three away games. With their backline looking brittle, they could suffer again at Deutsche Bank Park.
Score prediction: Eintracht Frankfurt 3-1 Hamburg
Hoffenheim vs VfB Stuttgart (Saturday, 2:30 pm)
Hoffenheim registered a crucial 2-1 victory at Hamburg last time out, which secured Christian Ilzer’s team Europa League qualification, at the very least, for next season, though the highfliers will still have designs on pushing for a top-four finish. Hoffenheim have now pocketed seven of the last nine points on offer and on Saturday, they host a Stuttgart side that hasn’t been travelling well since February.
Indeed, Stuttgart (4th), who are ahead of south-west rivals Hoffenheim by goal difference only, had to settle for a share of the spoils with visiting Werder Bremen (1-1) a week ago, and they have also failed to win four of their last five away assignments in the division. Stuttgart conceded 2+ goals in each of those five away tests and their leakiness could be their undoing again when they make the short trek north to the PreZero Arena.
Score prediction: Hoffenheim 3-2 VfB Stuttgart
Union Berlin vs FC Koln (Saturday, 2:30 pm)
As expected, Union Berlin found in-form RB Leipzig too hot to handle last weekend and their 3-1 reverse against Die Roten Bullen means that the club from the capital are still looking nervously over their shoulders. Union have a six-point buffer between themselves and the relegation playoff position, though they have lost four of their last five matches and have work to do to exorcise their relegation fears.
FC Koln’s plight is similar and their 2-1 Rhine derby loss at home to Bayer Leverkusen last time out keeps them just two places and two points clear of 16th spot. The Billy Goats were more than a little unfortunate to lose last weekend however, having outgunned Bayer for shots (25-8) and shots on target (10-3). They were unbeaten in five games before that unlucky loss, so don’t be surprised if they grind out a point in Berlin.
Score prediction: Union Berlin 1-1 FC Koln
Werder Bremen vs Augsburg (Saturday, 2:30 pm)
With goalscorer and man of the match Jens Stage central, Werder Bremen picked up a useful point at Stuttgart (1-1) last weekend to maintain a healthy six-point gap between themselves and the relegation playoff position. Daniel Thioune’s side are almost safe, and if they can harness home advantage against Augsburg, they can start planning for top-flight football next season.
Augsburg’s 1-1 tie with Eintracht Frankfurt last time out was their third draw in four games, and their only losses in their last ten matches overall were against top-four incumbents, RB Leipzig, Dortmund and Stuttgart. Manuel Baum’s robust Fuggerstädter should be tough to topple again in Bremen. Augsburg are unbeaten in three previous meetings with Werder and they can leave the Weserstadion with something on Saturday.
Score prediction: Werder Bremen 1-1 Augsburg
Bayer Leverkusen vs RB Leipzig (Saturday, 5:30 pm)
Two goals from Patrik Schick, including one from the penalty spot, allowed Bayer Leverkusen to earn a scarcely deserved win over Rhine rivals Koln last weekend to keep Die Werkself’s top-four challenge on track. However, home advantage has been virtually non-existent for Leverkusen in recent weeks and they have failed to win six of their last seven games at the BayArena in all competitions.
That record will make for interesting reading for a buoyant RB Leipzig. Ole Werner’s exciting side have been fizzing over the last two months, winning each of their last five skirmishes in the Bundesliga and seven of their last eight games in the division overall. Another victory on Saturday evening would confirm Champions League qualification, and RB Leipzig are fancied to get the result they need.
Score prediction: Bayer Leverkusen 1-2 RB Leipzig
St. Pauli vs Mainz (Sunday, 2:30 pm)
St. Pauli’s survival hopes suffered a significant blow last weekend when they lost their relegation six-pointer against bottom club Heidenheim (0-2). Automatic demotion remains a real possibility for St. Pauli, who have lost four and drawn three of their last seven league fixtures. They only registered two shots on target in last week’s loss to Heidenheim and chance creation continues to be a major issue, with St. Pauli netting only three times in their last seven games combined.
Mainz blew a three-goal first-half lead against Bayern Munich when last seen, eventually capitulating completely in a 4-3 loss. Head coach Urs Fischer has now seen his side lose three times in four games in all competitions, however, Mainz have lost only one of their last six away assignments in the Bundesliga and they can prove their mettle with a bounce-back performance at St. Pauli on Sunday.
Score prediction: St. Pauli 0-1 Mainz
Borussia Monchengladbach vs Borussia Dortmund (Sunday, 4:30 pm)
Gladbach have lost only one of their last six games, however, they still aren’t completely clear of danger. Their position might have been even weaker had keeper Moritz Nicolas not excelled in last weekend’s 0-0 draw with fellow relegation contenders Wolfsburg (0-0). Despite being tougher to beat, Die Fohlen rarely win. In fact, they have secured victories in only two of their last 15 league tests since early January.
Borussia Dortmund meanwhile, marked their 1,000th Bundesliga home game in fine style last weekend with a roaring 4-0 win over Freiburg, booking their place in next season’s Champions League in the process with three matches to spare. Classy Italian youngster Samuele Inácio excelled on his full debut and the 18-year-old could be handed another chance to impress from the start. Dortmund have only been bested twice on the road in the league since August and they are backed to leave Gladbach with at least a point.
Score prediction: Borussia Monchengladbach1-2 Borussia Dortmund
Freiburg vs Wolfsburg (Sunday, 6:30 pm)
Freiburg were gassed from their DFB Pokal semi-final against Stuttgart and looked low on energy in their 4-0 hammering at Dortmund last weekend. Their trip to face Braga in the Europa League semi-final first leg on Thursday could leave them similarly jaded for their clash with Wolfsburg on Sunday, widening their chances of dropping more points.
Second-from-bottom Wolfsburg were denied back-to-back wins by inspired Gladbach keeper Moritz Nicolas last time out, though the point they did earn against Die Fohlen moved them closer to St. Pauli in the relegation playoff berth. Die Wolfe gave Freiburg (3-4) a real scare in a seven-goal thriller in December, and they could go one better against their tired hosts in Sunday’s return fixture.
Score prediction: Freiburg 1-1 Wolfsburg
