Group F at the 2026 World Cup looks to be the most balanced group in the tournament, with the Netherlands, Japan, Sweden and Tunisia set to do battle.

With some close matches expected across the next few weeks, we have looked at each team's form and prospects, providing a trio of bets.

Netherlands

The Netherlands qualified for this summer's tournament without losing a game under Ronald Koeman, but it took them until the last matchday to book their spot.

After their impressive performance in the 2025 Nations League, it was a slight concern that their levels dropped, but their fans will hope they can bounce back on the big stage.

The Dutch reached the quarter-finals in Qatar in 2022 and the semi-finals of Euro 2024, and there is a sense that this is the last dance for most of their ageing squad.

Japan

Japan's players will enter the tournament in a buoyant mood, having beaten both Scotland and England 1-0 during the March international break.

Samurai Blue will be quietly confident of recording a few shock results, having beaten Spain and Germany at the 2022 World Cup.

They eventually fell short in the last 16 after losing to Croatia, but seven consecutive appearances at the World Cup have given them plenty of experience on the world stage.

Japan boss Hajime Moriyasu has proven over the last few years that he can adapt his tactics, which will be needed throughout the tournament.

Sweden

Sweden are somehow playing at this summer's World Cup, despite finishing bottom of their qualifying group. Thanks to their Nations League performances in 2025, they were handed a play-off spot and manager Graham Potter guided them over the line.

Potter's links to Sweden have helped him settle quicker than other managers would have, but he will be without Dejan Kulusevski, while Alexander Isak has struggled to stay fit all season.

Viktor Gyokeres, Isak, Anthony Elanga and Lucas Bergvall are key to their success this season, but it is hard to know what to expect of a team that performed so badly during qualifying.

Tunisia

Tunisia have reached the last two World Cups, but they made little impact and crashed out in the group stage on both occasions.

After a poor AFCON campaign, Sami Trabelsi was replaced by Sabri Lamouchi. He has maintained Tunisia's "defence first" mantra and they will look to frustrate opponents and pinch a goal at the other end.

Lamouchi has used the recent friendlies to experiment with some of Tunisia's youngest prospects, but it remains to be seen if he can get a tune out of his team.

Who will win World Cup Group F?

The Netherlands are the odds-on favourites to top the pile, and if Oranje play to their best, they will be tough to stop.

However, Koeman's ageing squad may not be able to handle the sweltering conditions for 270 minutes and could be caught out.

There is no doubt the Netherlands have enough quality to qualify, but Japan offers better value. Most of the Blue Samurai's squad play in Europe and their recent World Cup displays suggest they are a force to be reckoned with.

Koeman's team lacks depth outside the starting XI, but Japan boss Moriyasu has spent the last 12 months giving his fringe players game time to prepare them for this summer's showpiece.

Kaoru Mitoma's absence will be hard felt for Japan, but their system is a well-oiled machine and they come into the tournament with recent friendly wins over Brazil, Ghana, Bolivia, Scotland, England and Iceland.

Remarkably, Japan only conceded against Brazil during those successes and they look great value to repeat their success from 2022.

Who will finish bottom of World Cup Group F?

Sweden are being considered as potential challengers for top spot, but this appears to be wide of the mark. Their play-off success was dramatic, but it is important to remember they finished rock-bottom of their qualifying group.

Potter's appointment should have helped steady the ship and they should be able to finish third thanks to the finishing ability of Gyokeres and Isak.

Tunisia's success is built on their ability to defend, but they never come up against teams that possess the same quality as the Netherlands, Japan and Sweden.

Lamouchi has not been given enough time to build a solid plan and they will do well to score past their Group F opponents.

Who will be the top goalscorer from World Cup Group F?

While we expect Japan to top Group F, they will have most of their success from a strong defensive footing.

The Netherlands have the best attackers at their disposal and all eyes will usually point to Memphis Depay as their best striker.

However, the Corinthians ace is usually looking to drift wide when in possession and it is Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo that bursts behind into the final third.

Gakpo only scored seven goals in the Premier League, but he added four in the Netherlands' qualifying campaign to help them over the line.

He scored three goals at Euro 2024 and Koeman trusts him to get in the box ahead of Depay and Donyell Malen.
