Mikel Arteta has guided Arsenal to the top of the table
  • Fulham looking to bounce back from 3-1 defeats at Aston Villa and Bournemouth before international break

  • Bukayo Saka has scored in three of his last four games against Fulham

  • Recommended bet: Arsenal to win 2-1

Arsenal's first three away fixtures in this season's Premier League have produced a 1-0 win at Manchester United, a 1-0 defeat at champions Liverpool and a hard-fought 2-1 victory at Newcastle.

The Gunners resume their league campaign with a far shorter trip to Fulham, where they aim to cement their place at the top of the table.

Fulham beat Arsenal 2-1 at Craven Cottage in 2023-24 before a 1-1 draw last term but Marco Silva's men have suffered disappointing 3-1 defeats at Aston Villa and Bournemouth in their last two games.

Team news

Fulham striker Raul Jimenez will be assessed after missing Mexico's internationals due to a hip problem. Midfielder Sasa Lukic is injured, along with forward Rodrigo Muniz and full-back Kenny Tete.

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard (knee) has joined Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz and Noni Madueke on the sidelines.

Summer signing Piero Hincapie is back in training and Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka should start after playing only an hour of England's World Cup qualifying win in Latvia on Tuesday.

The stats

Fulham lost their last two games by a 3-1 scoreline despite scoring the first goal.

Four of Fulham's first seven Premier League matches were goalless at half-time.

The Cottagers' last three games all had over 3.5 goals.

Both teams have scored in six of the last seven meetings between these clubs.

Arsenal have won eight of their 10 matches in all competitions this season.

Only one of the Gunners' first 10 games featured over 3.5 goals.

Prediction

Arsenal dug deep to beat Newcastle 2-1 at St James' Park in their last Premier League away game and that correct score is worth backing when they take on Fulham at Craven Cottage.

The Gunners return from October's international break with a one-point lead at the top of the table and they are favourites to win the title after Liverpool's defeats at Crystal Palace and Chelsea.

Injuries are stacking up for Mikel Arteta, though, and the absence of playmaker Odegaard is a concern for Arsenal backers this weekend.

However, their summer spending spree has given them the depth to cope with such setbacks and Arteta still has a host of top-class midfield options.

England internationals Rice and Eberechi Eze started Arsenal's 2-0 home win over West Ham in which Spain stars Martin Zubimendi and Mikel Merino came off the bench.

Christian Norgaard and youngster Ethan Nwaneri are classy alternatives and Arsenal can grind out a win over Fulham, who have found victories hard to come by this term.

The Cottagers needed a late own goal from Gabriel Gudmundsson to see off promoted Leeds in September before a 3-1 win over local rivals Brentford.

But that result was followed by 3-1 losses at Aston Villa and Bournemouth, where they fell apart after taking the lead in both games.

Arsenal are in ruthless form although only one of their first 10 games this season — a 5-0 home win against Leeds — has featured over 3.5 goals.

Two of their last three league victories over Fulham were by a 2-1 scoreline and that trend may well continue on Saturday evening.
