Liverpool Could Sell Ibrahima Konate for £15m in January Amid Contract Stalemate

Liverpool would be prepared to accept offers as low as £15m for centre-back Ibrahima Konate in January provided a replacement can be signed next month, reports Football Insider.
The Reds have been trying to tie Konate down to a new deal for weeks now but have so far failed to convince the France international to remain at Anfield.
The former RB Leipzig man had been linked with a move to Real Madrid, who were considering offering Konate a contract to lure him to the Bernabeu next summer.
However, Los Blancos have opted against firming up their interest in Konate, whose current deal expires next summer.
And while Liverpool are desperate to retain the 26-year-old’s services, they are also willing to listen to offers of £15m provided they can’t convince the defender to extend his stay at Anfield.
Liverpool eye new centre-back in January
Additionally, Liverpool will look to bring in a replacement at centre-back before they explore the possibility of losing Konate.
The Reds did strengthen at the back over the summer, signing Giovanni Leoni from Parma.
The teenage Italian, though, suffered a season-ending ACL injury earlier in the year, leaving Liverpool short of centre-back options.
As such, the defending Premier League champions are expected to firm up their interest in Marc Guehi next month.
Reds face competition for Guehi
Guehi’s contract, like Konate, expires at the end of the season, with Crystal Palace prepared to sanction his exit in January.
The England international came close to joining Liverpool on deadline day in September, yet Palace pulled the plug on the transfer at the 11th hour as they failed to bring in a replacement.
Liverpool aren’t the only side credited with an interest in Guehi, with Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane hoping to convince the 25-year-old to make the switch to the Allianz Arena.
Konate has started every league game for Liverpool this season and played the full 90 minutes as the Reds threw away a two-goal lead in their eventual 3-3 draw with Leeds on Saturday night.
Konate conceded a penalty for a second half foul on Wilfried Gnonto at Elland Road, which was scored by Dominic Calvert-Lewin as the Whites rescued a point late on against the Reds.
