Former scout feels Tottenham will do 'everything' to keep Luka Vuskovic after Brighton bid

Former Tottenham scout Bryan King feels the club will "do everything they can" to keep Luka Vuskovic after they rejected a bid from Brighton for the defender.
Spurs defender Vuskovic appears capable of becoming one of the best in the world. That he was named in the Bundesliga Team of the Season as a 19-year-old in his first season in a top-five league highlights his abilities.
There is a sense both that Vuskovic is ready to perform at Tottenham and therefore that they should be keeping him at the club for the foreseeable future.
That they have rejected a £30million bid from Brighton shows they are ready to do that, however, the centre-back has reportedly asked to move to the South coast club, potentially throwing a spanner in the works.
In any case, King feels Spurs will be doing their all to keep him.
He told Tottenham News: "It will be interesting to see what happens with Vuskovic. I think Tottenham will want to bring him back and get him in the side, especially if a deal for Romero goes through.
"He's played more international games than he's played for Tottenham, which is ridiculous. He's big, strong and he's had a great season in the Bundesliga.
"It will be perfect to bring him back now, especially with the World Cup. Tottenham will do everything they can to keep him because they want him as part of their first team."
Tottenham set Vuskovic valuation
It is not seen as impossible that Vuskovic moves on amid interest from Brighton. However, Spurs have set a fee that could be difficult for them to achieve.
Indeed, reports have suggested that if Tottenham are to let the teenager go, they want to receive £60million for his services.
That is less than they have reportedly bid for Brighton centre-back Jan Paul van Hecke, showing what they think of their young centre-back and his potential in the game.
It feels unlikely that the Seagulls are going to match that price, though Vuskovic's entourage have expressed a feeling that the price is excessive at this stage.
It's been said that Spurs are prepared to continue discussions, but that they see Vuskovic as capable of becoming one of the elite centre-backs in European football in the coming years.
