Leaders Coventry host Millwall on Tuesday
Wrexham take on Leicester at the Racecourse Ground
Second-placed Middlesbrough visit Stoke on Wednesday
Championship leaders Coventry secured a welcome first win in four league games at home to Leicester on Saturday and have a six-point advantage over Middlesbrough, with Ipswich two points further back with a game in hand.
With nine second-tier fixtures on Tuesday and three more on Wednesday, we are looking ahead to all 12 midweek matches and have a score prediction for each one.
Charlton vs Derby (Tuesday, 7.45pm)
Charlton won for only the second time in 13 games against a Sheffield United side who played the whole second half with only nine men but things will get tougher again when they host Derby.
The Rams have picked up six of their 10 league wins on the road and can build on their excellent 1-0 win at Preston.
Score prediction: Charlton 0-1 Derby
Coventry vs Millwall (Tuesday, 7.45pm)
A late winner from Haji Wright against Leicester was a huge relief for Coventry manager Frank Lampard but his side face a tricky home test against Millwall and may have to settle for a point.
The Lions are unbeaten in five league games and can give a good account of themselves.
Score prediction: Coventry 1-1 Millwall
Ipswich vs Bristol City (Tuesday, 7.45pm)
Ipswich have won six of their last eight league matches to reach third place in the table and they can add another victory in an attractive home clash against Bristol City.
The Robins earned a draw in the teams' first meeting and can get on the scoresheet at Portman Road.
Score prediction: Ipswich 2-1 Bristol City
Oxford vs QPR (Tuesday, 7.45pm)
Oxford are finding everything pretty hard at the moment and only one win in their last eight league games has seen them fall to 23rd place.
The first meeting between these teams was a goalless draw but the Hoops can get the better of their hosts this time.
Score prediction: Oxford 0-2 QPR
Preston vs Hull (Tuesday, 7.45pm)
Preston and Hull are both in the top six and North End would be even higher in the table if they could turn more of their draws into wins, with 10 draws in their 27 games.
Hull are unbeaten in five away matches, though, and this could be an 11th stalemate for the home side.
Score prediction: Preston 1-1 Hull
Sheffield Wednesday vs Birmingham (Tuesday, 7.45pm)
Birmingham have won only two away league games this season, but a visit to rock-bottom Sheffield Wednesday, who have not yet won at home, could be just what they need.
The Blues have lost only one of their last six games and can secure a welcome victory.
Score prediction: Sheffield Wednesday 0-2 Birmingham
Swansea vs Blackburn (Tuesday, 7.45pm)
Swansea have lost only one of their last five matches but they have not been particularly impressive.
Blackburn have failed to score in five of their last six outings but their lack of firepower may not prevent them from grabbing a point in Wales.
Score prediction: Swansea 0-0 Blackburn
West Brom vs Norwich (Tuesday, 7.45pm)
West Brom showed plenty of fight in their first match for new manager Eric Ramsay but lost 3-2 to Middlesbrough and now Albion must entertain improving Norwich.
The Canaries are in the bottom three but have won four of their last six games and could build on their excellent away victory at Wrexham.
Score prediction: West Brom 1-2 Norwich
Wrexham vs Leicester (Tuesday, 8pm)
Both these teams had been in decent form before losing at the weekend and there may not be much between them in Tuesday's later kick-off.
Leicester have not been shut out in their last 11 games and this could develop into a lively and close encounter.
Score prediction: Wrexham 2-2 Leicester
Southampton vs Sheffield United (Wednesday, 7.45pm)
Sheffield United played half of their match at Charlton two players short on Saturday and the effort the Blades put in could take its toll when they make another long trip south to St Mary's.
Southampton have not been in great form but they beat United at Bramall Lane in September and could complete a double.
Score prediction: Southampton 2-1 Sheffield United
Watford vs Portsmouth (Wednesday, 7.45pm)
Watford have followed a run of four wins with back-to-back defeats but they should prove too strong for Portsmouth.
The Hornets have lost only two of their 14 home league games, while Pompey have scored just eight goals in 12 away matches.
Score prediction: Watford 2-0 Portsmouth
Stoke vs Middlesbrough (Wednesday, 8pm)
The last game on the midweek schedule is an intriguing clash between seventh-placed Stoke and second-placed Middlesbrough and a tight contest is likely.
Stoke are unbeaten in four outings and held Boro to a goalless draw in their first meeting.
The teams may have to accept one point each again.
Score prediction: Stoke 1-1 Middlesbrough
