Wicket. OUT! Caught. Lauren Smith to Maisy Gibson. Half volley, driving, mis-timed to mid on, caught by Trenaman. Hobart Hurricanes prevail by 81 runs on the DLS Method over the Melbourne Stars. The Hurricanes were sent in to bat earlier this evening and a powerful start had them well placed at 58-0 when a short rain delay reduced the contest to 17 overs a side. Danni Wyatt-Hodge top scored for the Hurricanes with 71 of 47 deliveries, earning her Player of the Match honours. Chasing a target of 180, the Stars were always up against and it as regular wickets fell, were bowled out for 98 in 15.5 overs. Molly Strano managed 5/16 in three overs for the Hurricanes, whilst Wyatt-Hodge took 3 catches to add to her performance including one of the best catches of the tournament off the bowling of Strano. Sasha Moloney showed some late order fight for the Stars with 31 off 24 balls, but it was too little too late. The Hurricanes now go three points clear of the Stars on top of the table.
