Drawn with Croatia, Ghana and Panama, England are favourites to win Group L at the World Cup 2026 – and LiveScore Bet are currently offering odds of 7/1* on the Three Lions to win all three of their group games by two or more goals.
England have topped their group at each of the last two World Cups, but they’ve not won all of their group games since 1982 – when they were knocked out in the second group stage. Could this be the year they repeat the trick?
Playing Croatia – on paper, their toughest opponents – could work in England’s favour. Win that and their second game against Ghana and it’s quite possible the Three Lions will already have confirmed first place in the group – allowing Thomas Tuchel to rotate for game number three against Panama, a fixture one would expect even a second-string England side to win relatively comfortably.
Can England win all of those games by two or more goals? With captain Harry Kane in the form of his life, they absolutely can. The 32-year-old amassed a career-best 61 goals in all competitions for Bayern Munich this season, at an average of well over one a game. Not that England’s attacking threat ends with Kane: the likes of Bukayo Saka, Marcus Rashford and Morgan Rogers will all be eager to get among the goals on the biggest stage of all.
It helps, too, that Tuchel’s England have generally been a seriously tough nut to crack. They qualified without conceding a single goal and went on a run of six straight matches (including friendlies) of winning by a two-goal margin or greater between September and November last year.
