Belgium tore through the United States 4-1 in Seattle to book a World Cup quarter-final showdown with Spain. Charles De Ketelaere punished early hesitation in the ninth minute, before Malik Tillman’s deflected free-kick levelled it on 31 minutes. The comeback lasted just 116 seconds as De Ketelaere headed Belgium back in front in the 33rd minute. Hans Vanaken made it 3-1 in the 57th after a costly Matt Freese error, and Romelu Lukaku pounced on another defensive lapse in the 90+3rd minute. A bruising exit for the co-hosts, and Belgium are suddenly roaring.
