Ivory Coast vs Ecuador

Moises Caicedo (Ecuador) to concede over 1.5 fouls

We start our bet builder tips today in Philadelphia, where Ecuadorian midfield dynamo Moises Caicedo should be well positioned to commit at least two fouls against the Ivory Coast.

As he does for Chelsea in the Premier League, Caicedo patrols the middle of the pitch with aggression and authority for Ecuador, and the 24-year-old gave away an unmatched 32 free kicks during his country’s World Cup qualification run in the CONMEBOL region.

That was a full ten more than any other Ecuadorian player, with Caicedo conceding 2.06 fouls per 90 minutes on average across the campaign. Expect Caicedo to play with just as sharp an edge in Monday’s tussle with the Ivory Coast.

Recommended bet: Moises Caicedo (Ecuador) to concede over 1.5 fouls

Sweden vs Tunisia

Hannibal Mejbri (Tunisia) to concede over 1.5 fouls

Midfielder Mejbri has established a firm reputation for overenthusiasm and mistimed tackles at club level, so it’s logical to expect him to perform with the same emotion when Tunisia open their 2026 World Cup account against Sweden.

Mejbri committed 23 fouls and was booked a staggering ten times for Burnley last season, despite starting only 15 times in the Premier League for the relegated Clarets, and the 23-year-old became a go-to selection for football bet builder aficionados as a foul-market candidate as a result.

With Tunisia likely to cede possession against Sweden in Guadalupe, Mejbri should have ample opportunity to rattle into tackles, and a target of over 1.5 fouls should be a most one for him to beat in the circumstances.

Recommended bet: Hannibal Mejbri (Tunisia) to concede over 1.5 fouls

Spain vs Cape Verde

Spain to have over 6.5 shots on target

As one of the pre-tournament favourites, Spain will be keen to put an early marker down when they tackle debutantes Cape Verde in what has the makings of a Group H mismatch in Atlanta.

La Roja were boosted by the news that winger Lamine Yamal would be fit for Monday’s opener and with the Barca starlet on board, this classy Spain outfit should have far too much firepower for the Blue Sharks.

From a betting perspective, it’s worth taking a look at Spain’s potential output in the final third over match result, or even total goals markets, where value is hard to find.

Backing Spain to have over 6.5 shots on target against Cape Verde fits the bill here at reasonable bet builder odds. The Spaniards averaged a steady 22.8 shots and 9.66 shots on target per 90 minutes during their World Cup qualification journey.

Their inventive, short-passing game is incisive enough to carve open most defences, and Spain are fancied to rack up the attempts again against a Cape Verde side that lacks quality at the back.

Recommended bet: Spain to have over 6.5 shots on target

Belgium vs Egypt

Jeremy Doku (Belgium) to have over 0.5 shots on target

Man City attacker Jeremy Doku could never be described as prolific, though the 24-year-old did find his shooting boots in the closing months of the 2025/26 campaign, heightening his confidence as a chance finisher ahead of the World Cup.

Doku scored five times and lodged eight shots on target in his final ten appearances of the club season for City, and he tested the opposing keeper with two accurate shots when he lined out for Belgium against Croatia in a pre-World Cup friendly earlier this month.

That showing against the Croatians in particular, suggested that Doku is ready to shoulder more responsibility in the final third for Belgium this summer.

Doku should be able to find joy against an Egyptian side that has vulnerabilities at fullback and our betting predictions back the flanksman to test Mohamed El Shenawy with at least one effort at Lumen Field in Seattle.

Recommended bet: Jeremy Doku (Belgium) to have over 0.5 shots on target

Saudi Arabia vs Uruguay

Darwin Nunez (Uruguay) to have over 1.5 shots on target

Agent of chaos Darwin Nunez isn’t always the most clinical finisher, however, from a player stats angle, the striker is as reliable as they come, and the 26-year-old can usually be relied upon to rack up attempt after attempt when he features.

Nunez started only 14 times for Al-Hilal during the last Saudi league campaign, but still managed to register 44 shots at goal, and the centre forward had at least two efforts on target in seven of the same games.

The former Liverpool frontman also topped the charts for Uruguay for both total shots (29) and overall shots on target (13) mustered during the nation’s World Cup qualifiers, and he remains the focal point and spearhead of their attack at the tournament proper.

Nunez has drawn plenty of criticism for his performances at club level in Saudi Arabia, so he will be doubly eager to make a telling impact against the Green One here. Back Nunez to take aim at every opportunity.

Recommended bet: Darwin Nunez (Uruguay) to have over 1.5 shots on target
