Cape Verde vs Saudi Arabia
Under 9.5 shots on target
Despite occupying the bottom two places in Group H ahead of matchday three, both Cape Verde and Saudi Arabia still hold knockout-phase qualification hopes, so their encounter in Houston won’t be short on tension.
Neither side attacks with much venom and risk-averse football could be the order of the day again on Saturday. Cape Verde have managed to rack up just five shots on target in total at the World Cup so far, while Saudi Arabia have clocked only four, and our football betting tips recommend banking on the teams’ combined lack of cutting edge. Look to the under 9.5 shots on target market for success at the NRG Stadium.
Recommended bet: Under 9.5 shots on target
Uruguay vs Spain
Rodrigo Bentancur (Uruguay) to concede over 1.5 fouls
Our bet builder feature swings down to Mexico next, where Uruguayan midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur is backed to beat a target of over 1.5 fouls against Spain. The Spurs anchorman has already committed more fouls than any of his teammates at the World Cup, giving away one free kick against Saudi Arabia before conceding another three against Cape Verde.
Bentancur, who has averaged 0.91, 1.86, 1.79 fouls per 90 minutes across his last three campaigns in England’s Premier League, should have plenty of chances to stick his boot in against a possession-hungry Spanish side on Saturday. La Roja rank third for average possession per game (70.9%) at the 2026 World Cup, and Bentancur’s chances of committing multiple fouls while trying to unsettle Spain’s passing rhythms feel high.
Recommended bet: Rodrigo Bentancur (Uruguay) to concede over 1.5 fouls
New Zealand vs Belgium
Maxim De Cuyper (Belgium) to have 0.5 shots on target
Another one of Saturday’s World Cup 2026 fixtures with plenty riding on it, New Zealand’s tussle with Belgium is unlikely to be low-key and Maxim De Cuyper could be a below-radar option to consider in the shots on target market at keenly-priced bet builder odds.
Belgium’s forwards have been stuttering stateside, however, De Cuyper has been providing a decent amount of threat while marauding forward from left back. His four shots on target so far, puts him top of the pile for that metric for the Belgians and the 25-year-old should be able to join in from deep again when he faces New Zealand.
Recommended bet: Maxim De Cuyper (Belgium) to have 0.5 shots on target
Egypt vs Iran
Omar Marmoush (Egypt) to have over 2.5 shots vs Iran
Our bet builder tips today continue with a pick out from Egypt’s Group G tussle with Iran in Seattle, where Omar Marmoush’s trigger-happy approach makes him a worthwhile addition from the over 2.5 shots market options.
Marmoush has had more shots (8) at the World Cup than any other Egyptian player so far. Only one of those efforts was on target, though accuracy, or lack thereof, doesn’t matter here. The 27-year-old had five shots against Belgium and another three against New Zealand, and he can shoot past a target of over 2.5 strikes again.
The Man City attacker also spammed 3.86 shots per 90 minutes in the EPL last term, despite being used sparingly. Indeed, Marmoush will always choose to let fly at goal over passing, even if his frustrated teammates are in better positions, though his selfish streak is perfect from a betting predictions perspective.
Recommended bet: Omar Marmoush (Egypt) to have over 2.5 shots vs Iran
Panama vs England
Jose Cordoba (Panama) to concede over 1.5 fouls
England are still in command in the Group L World Cup 2026 standings following their drab 0-0 draw with Ghana, though the Three Lions will face another test of their patience and creativity when they take on Panama at the MetLife Stadium.
Only four teams have committed more fouls per game on average at the World Cup so far than Panama (15), so expect Los Canaleros to use aggression in an attempt to knock England out of their stride on Saturday.
Defender Jose Cordoba, who fouled 30 times in 25 appearances for Norwich in the Championship last term, should be at the front of the queue to dish out punishment. The 25-year-old has already been collared for five fouls in two group game runouts and he’s backed to give away at least another two free kicks against England.
Recommended bet: Jose Cordoba (Panama) to concede over 1.5 fouls
Croatia vs Ghana
Antoine Semenyo (Ghana) to concede over 1.5 fouls
Ghana’s style of play under Carlos Queiroz won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, though their approach worked well enough to stifle England, and an attritional game plan is likely to be used again against Croatia in Philadelphia.
The Black Stars rank second at the 2026 World Cup for average fouls committed per game (16.5) and second-last for average possession posted per game (29.6%).
Their attacking players tend to drive those foul metric figures up. Indeed, player stats show that Antoine Semenyo fouled twice against Panama and three times against England, while his fellow forward Jordan Ayew has also racked up six fouls so far.
Both players should be strong foul-market candidates again on Saturday, though Semenyo offers the better value of the two to commit over 1.5 fouls against Croatia.
Recommended bet: Antoine Semenyo (Ghana) to concede over 1.5 fouls
