Mexico vs South Korea

Julian Quinones (Mexico) to have over 0.5 shots on target

The first of our bet builder tips today for El Tri’s clash with South Korea centres around one of the star performers from matchday one in the group stage, Mexico winger Julian Quinones.

The 29-year-old scintillated on the left flank and was named Man of the Match in the Mexicans’ 2-0 triumph over South Africa. Quinones notched the deadlock-breaker after just nine minutes and went on to terrorise his markers with his quick thinking and explosive bursts.

In total, the Al Qadisiyah attacker registered a game-high six shots, two of which hit the target, and buoyed by that showing, a confident Quinones is fancied to clock at least one accurate attempt against South Korea.

Recommended bet: Julian Quinones (Mexico) to have over 0.5 shots on target

Lee Han-beom (South Korea) to concede over 1.5 fouls

The next selection in our bet builder feature ties in neatly with the first and we recommend backing Lee Han-beom to commit at least two fouls at the Estadio Akron on Friday morning.

Han-beom was deployed in the furthest right position of South Korea’s central defensive trio against Czech Republic and if he’s fielded there again on Friday, he will share the same spaces as livewire Mexican forward Julian Quinones.

The 23-year-old, who committed more fouls (three) than any other South Korean player against Czechia, is 6’3” tall and might lack the mobility to cope with Quinones’s quick feet. The Liverpool-linked defender could be in trouble here and he could give away at least two free kicks for the second game running.

Recommended bet: Lee Han-beom (South Korea) to concede over 1.5 fouls

USA vs Australia

Australia's goalkeeper (Patrick Beach) to make over 3.5 saves

The Socceroos upset the odds to topple Turkey earlier this week and they had goalkeeper Patrick Beach to thank for their shock 2-0 win at BC Place in Vancouver.

The 22-year-old was in inspired form between the sticks, making an incredible eight saves to repeatedly deny the frustrated Crescent Stars.

Beach’s eight-save haul was the most by any goalkeeper making their World Cup debut since Rustu Recber, ironically, did the same for Turkey back in 2002.

Australia did concede a hefty 30 shots in their triumph over Turkey however, and their backline was far too easy to penetrate. That brittle defence could be stretched again by a talented USA frontline and Beach might find himself overworked again. Back the Melbourne City star to make over 3.5 saves again.

Recommended bet: Australia's goalkeeper (Patrick Beach) to make over 3.5 saves

Malik Tillman (USA) to have 0.5 shots on target

USA excelled as an attacking force in their fine 4-1 World Cup opener victory over Paraguay, and while two-goal Folarin Balogun hogged the headlines in the aftermath, Malik Tillman was just as effective.

The midfielder didn’t score, but he matched Balogun for shots attempted (five) and found the target with two of those efforts. All five of the 24-year-old’s shots against Paraguay were hit from open play, highlighting Tilman’s ability to find space in dangerous areas around the box.

Unsurprisingly, his teammate Balogun offers little value to have 0.5 shots on target following his brace, though Tillman is a much better market opportunity in the same range and our expert betting tips recommend backing the Bayer Leverkusen schemer to threaten Aussie stopper Patrick Beach at least once.

Recommended bet: Malik Tillman (USA) to have 0.5 shots on target

Scotland vs Morocco

Lawrence Shankland (Scotland) to concede over 1.5 fouls

Scotland’s chances of securing a qualification spot in the Group C World Cup 2026 standings were given a significant boost with their narrow win over Haiti (1-0), and the Scots showed their battling qualities to get that victory over the line.

Striker Lawrence Shankland embodied Scotland’s grit in that display. The 30-year-old made himself a nuisance throughout, contesting a game-high 16 duels while also committing four fouls before he was withdrawn with seven minutes to go.

Shankland will be determined to ruffle feathers in the Moroccan defence in similar style, so expect him to get physical against his markers again. The combative Rangers man’s bet builder odds to commit at least two fouls again are favourable here, so get him on your docket.

Recommended bet: Lawrence Shankland (Scotland) to concede over 1.5 fouls

Brahim Diaz (Morocco) to have over 0.5 shots on target

Morocco had several outstanding individual performances in their 1-1 draw with Brazil, though Brahim Diaz might have been the pick of the bunch.

The Real Madrid attacker registered three attempts and one attempt on target against the Brazilians, and also clocked more touches in the opponent’s box than any other Moroccan player at the MetLife Stadium.

To his credit, Diaz can usually be relied upon to step up when it counts for his country. A few months ago, at AFCON, he hit at least one shot on target in six of Morocco’s seven fixtures in the tournament.

The 26-year-old can be a menace again against Scotland and our football betting tips recommend including him to beat a target of over 0.5 shots.

Recommended bet: Brahim Diaz (Morocco) to have over 0.5 shots on target
