Norway vs Senegal

Ismaila Sarr (Senegal) to have over 0.5 shots on target

Senegal eventually wilted against a high-class French outfit on matchday one in Group I, however, their display at the MetLife Stadium had plenty of early promise, with winger Ismaila Sarr one of their standout performers.

The 28-year-old’s explosive running power and expertly timed bursts made him a real menace against Les Bleus and Sarr racked up three attempts in Senegal’s 3-1 loss, which was more than any of his teammates in East Rutherford.

Sarr didn’t manage to find the target with any of his three efforts, though our bet builder bets today are backing him to go one better against Norway.

The Crystal Palace star, who averaged 1.99 shots and 0.87 shots on target per 90 minutes in the Premier League last season, hit three goals in six games for Senegal during the nation’s AFCON World Cup qualifiers, highlighting the threat he consistently carries, and Sarr is fancied to showcase his talents again with a shot on target against the Norwegians.

Recommended bet: Ismaila Sarr (Senegal) to have over 0.5 shots on target

Jordan vs Algeria

Nizar Al Rashdan (Jordan) to concede over 1.5 fouls

As expected, Jordan felt the squeeze against Austria in their first-ever World Cup finals fixture and midfielder Nizar Al Rashdan was one of several Jordanian players with a high defensive workload to plough through.

The 27-year-old engaged in a game-high 17 duels against the Austrians in Santa Clara, while the player stats also showed that the anchorman committed three fouls, a tally which put him top of that individual metric for Jordan.

Jordan are likely to play second fiddle to Algeria in terms of possession on Tuesday, just like they did against Austria, where they saw only 37% of the ball, so expect Al Rashdan’s defensive figures to be lofty again.

The bet builder odds for this one are favourable and backing Nizar Al Rashdan to commit over 1.5 fouls for his second successive World Cup appearance is an easy inclusion.

Recommended bet: Nizar Al Rashdan (Jordan) to concede over 1.5 fouls

Portugal vs Uzbekistan

Under 7.5 Portugal shots on target

Our bet builder feature switches tack slightly for Portugal’s crucial Group K tussle with Uzbekistan, where bettors are advised to take advantage of the Seleção’s well-documented issues in the final third.

Portugal’s performance on matchday one against DR Congo was sterile in the extreme and Roberto Martinez’s stuttering side had just seven shots and one attempt on target in their 1-1 draw against the Léopards, despite posting 75% possession.

The Portuguese also created zero big chances while manufacturing just 0.65 in xG, with Cristiano Ronaldo’s ineffectiveness at centre forward impacting the chemistry of their entire frontline.

DR Congo set the blueprint for Uzbekistan to follow here, so expect Portugal’s opponents to sit in a low block with the aim of frustrating. Ronaldo and co might struggle to break down that deep-lying unit, so backing them to register under 7.5 shots on target looks like a decent market opportunity.

Recommended bet: Under 7.5 Portugal shots on target

England vs Ghana

Declan Rice to have 0.5 shots on target

England are already in the driving seat in the race for prominence in the Group L World Cup 2026 standings, so expect the Three Lions to go full throttle for victory against Ghana.

Thomas Tuchel’s side attacked with venom in their 4-2 win over Croatia last week, racking up 22 shots and 11 shots on target in the process, with a notable eight different English players landing at least one accurate effort.

Midfielder Declan Rice was one of that contingent and our football betting tips for England vs Ghana are backing the 27-year-old to find his range one or more times again on Tuesday.

Rice provides a supporting role from midfield, though he rarely lets a game pass without shooting. Indeed, the Arsenal man had at least one shot in 22 separate Premier League and six Champions League fixtures for the Gunners last season, while Rice also lodged 11 shots in eight World Cup qualification runouts for England. Look for Rice to test Black Stars keeper Lawrence Ati Zigi at least once again here.

Recommended bet: Declan Rice to have 0.5 shots on target
