South Korea vs Czech Republic
Lee Kang-in (South Korea) to have over 0.5 shots on target
Former Tottenham star Heung-min Son tends to dominate this market for South Korea, however, his supporting attacker, Lee Kang-in, might be a better value alternative in the shot on target stakes for today’s football betting tips.
Lee certainly has the edge on price here, and the 25-year-old PSG forward actually matched Son for total shots on target (seven each) registered during the Taegeuk Warriors’ World Cup qualification run in Asia, while he had more attempts than Son overall (22 -17).
With the Czechian defence likely to be focused on main danger man Son, Lee could make use of the extra space and freedom to threaten. Just a single shot on target from the schemer will get this leg over the line.
Recommended bet: Lee Kang-in (South Korea) to have over 0.5 shots on target
Czech Republic double chance
South Korea will kick Friday’s bout off as favourites, however, this feels like one of the early World Cup 2026 fixtures that could upset the odds.
The South Korean camp is unsettled, with Head Coach Hong Myung-bo, routinely the target of criticism from pundits for his tactical approach and selection choices. He’s also been booed by the country’s own supporters.
Despite South Korea’s unbeaten record in their 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Hong Myung-bo has been trying to change formations ahead of the World Cup, which has caused extra unrest. Heavy friendly defeats to Brazil (0-5) and Ivory Coast (0-4) set alarm bells ringing.
Czechia meanwhile, have lost only two of their last 19 games and showed real grit to come through two taxing playoff assignments against Ireland and Denmark to reach the World Cup. Miroslav Koubek’s well-organised outfit have the tools to frustrate the Koreans here.
Recommended bet: Czech Republic double chance
Pavel Sulc (Czech Republic) to have 0.5 shots on target
While Patrick Schick remains the focal point and biggest name in attack for the Czech Republic, Pavel Sulc has been quietly establishing himself as next in command, and the 25-year-old offers much better value than his teammate in the shots on target market for Friday.
Sulc was a mainstay for Czechia during the nation’s World Cup qualification journey, averaging 2.36 shots and 0.94 shots on target per 90 minutes across the campaign. Only central striker Schick (12) had more accurate attempts than Sulc (8) overall.
The 25-year-old travelled to this summer’s World Cup off the back of an excellent maiden campaign in France with Lyon, so he should have sufficient confidence to shoot, if and when opportunities arise.
Recommended bet: Pavel Sulc (Czech Republic) to have 0.5 shots on target
Ladislav Krejci (Czech Republic) to concede over 1.5 fouls
Ladislav Krejci plays as the furthest left of a central defensive trio for Czechia and can often be caught in uncomfortable positions as a result, especially if left exposed by a wing-back’s forward forays.
As fans of the Premier League will know, Krejci tends to foul when he’s in trouble. Indeed, he committed 1.65 fouls per 90 minutes during the Czech Republic’s World Cup qualification campaign and the 27-year-old gave away 33 free kicks in 28 appearances for relegation Wanderers last season.
Krejci also committed 2+ fouls in 15 separate outings for club and country between August and May last term, and the timing of his tackles could be tested again by some nimble South Korean forwards.
Recommended bet: Ladislav Krejci (Czech Republic) to concede over 1.5 fouls
Canada vs Bosnia & Herzegovina
Richie Laryea (Canada) to concede over 1.5 fouls
With 75 caps, 31-year-old Richie Laryea is one of the more battle-hardened pros in a young Canadian squad and the fullback brings muscle to his defensive duties, regularly racking up lofty player stats for tackles and fouls.
Laryea plays his club football with FC Toronto in the MLS and in the last three campaigns stateside, he averaged 1.80, 1.65 and 1.78 fouls per 90 minutes. Determined to help his team to secure an early foothold in the Group A World Cup 2026 standings, Laryea could launch into challenges again against Bosnia & Herzegovina.
Before he linked up with Canada, Laryea committed four fouls in his final MLS outing against Philadelphia Union, highlighting his aggressive style, and our bet builder tips today back the left back to give away at least two free kicks on Friday.
Recommended bet: Richie Laryea (Canada) to concede over 1.5 fouls
Canada to have over 12.5 shots
Canada racked up a notable 21 attempts in their final friendly warm-up fixture against Ireland (1-1) on June 6, and their front-footed, “Maplepressing” approach under adventurous head coach and tactician, Jesse Marsch, can often create double-figure shooting opportunities for the Canadians.
In fact, with that game against Ireland included, Canada have registered 14+ shots in four of their last five games. With the home crowd in Toronto providing extra energy to harness on their tournament bow, Canada are likely to play with plenty of attacking thrust again on Friday.
With those factors considered, backing them to have over 12.5 shots offers value and feels like a worthwhile addition to any bet builder bets.
Recommended bet: Canada to have over 12.5 shots
Kerim Alajbegovic (Bosnia & Herzegovina) to have over 0.5 shots on target
Exciting winger Kerim Alajbegovic is at the forefront of a new generation of talented young Bosnian footballers, and the 18-year-old, who joins German giants Bayer Leverkusen this summer, could provide a goal threat from the flanks against Canada.
The teenager clocked an impressive 3.51 shots and 1.75 shots on target per 90 minutes during his country’s World Cup qualification campaign, and he was a real menace against Italy in the playoffs, landing two of his three attempts on target.
Kerim Alajbegovic also averaged 1.61 shots p/90 for former club RB Salzburg last season and he rarely lets a game pass without testing the opposing keeper.
Recommended bet: Kerim Alajbegovic (Bosnia & Herzegovina) to have over 0.5 shots on target
Benjamin Tahirovic (Bosnia & Herzegovina) to concede over 1.5 fouls
Tahirovic’s partnership in midfield with Ivan Sunjic isn’t short on bite and that pair topped the pile for Bosnia & Herzegovina during the nation’s World Cup qualification campaign for total fouls committed.
Sunjic (24 fouls) was the main offender there, though Tahirovic ran him close, committing 18 fouls in total and an average of 2.17 fouls per 90 minutes. The 23-year-old sticks his boot in with just as much abandon for his club, Brondby, where Tahirovic gave away 20 free kicks in 25 Superliga appearances last term.
With Canada likely to dominate possession on Friday, Tahirovic can put his powers of disruption to good use and our free football tips for the game back him to be collared for at least two fouls in Toronto.
Recommended bet: Benjamin Tahirovic (Bosnia & Herzegovina) to concede over 1.5 fouls
