Jamie O'Hara called for England to sack Thomas Tuchel as the Three Lions lost to Argentina in the semi-final of the 2026 World Cup, with the FA making a call.
Tuchel largely got his substitutions right for England, all the way through to the quarter-finals. In the round of 16 and the quarters, when the Three Lions had got ahead, defensive calls were made, such as bringing on Dan Burn to good effect.
But with England 1-0 up over Argentina in the semi, with around half an hour to go, he went to a back five, with Ezri Konsa replacing goalscorer Anthony Gordon, before Burn and Nico O'Reilly came on just minutes before the Argentinians scored.
It seemed to leave England without the bite to get one back, and in the end it came back to bite them, with the world champions scoring again in the 92nd minute to wrap the game up 2-1.
O'Hara called for Tuchel's head on talkSPORT, feeling his negative tactics put England out.
He said: "You cannot play like this against Argentina. They will not quit. It's a terrible, terrible decision from Thomas Tuchel. We retreated way too early, way too early.
"We could've had [Marcus] Rashford, we could've had [Bukayo] Saka. We had so much more to give in this game and we just retreated, it's a terrible decision.
"This is what he's brought in for, to get this decision right.
"It's the worst decision ever, it's a sackable offence. It's a shocking, shocking decision. Thomas Tuchel you should be embarrassed.
"Sack him, sack him, sack him now. Embarrassing. We're out. How can he make that decision? How can you make that decision with 25 minutes to go?
"He's all over the place. He's absolutely bottled it. And we're out of the World Cup because of Thomas Tuchel. Embarrassing.
FA make Tuchel decision
But per The Daily Mail, the England boss is going nowhere soon. They insist he retains full confidence to take the Three Lions into the Euros in 2028.
Though the German was brought in to engineer World Cup success, he was given a new deal earlier in 2026, prior to the tournament.
He insists he will be at the helm at least through to the conclusion of that current deal.
Indeed, Tuchel said: "We keep on going with the contract until the home Euros.
"I'm looking forward to that even though right now it's difficult to look that far ahead."
