Premier League Transfer News: Bouaddi, Alvarez and the Potential Premier League Incomings this Summer

After 104 matches, the 2026 World Cup is done and dusted. Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened. Spain emerged victorious as they claimed a 1-0 win over 2022 champions Argentina at the New York New Jersey Stadium.

For club teams, pre-season is well underway. Managers are assessing their squad and identifying areas of improvement.

With the summer transfer window now in full swing, we’ve picked out 10 players who could make the move to the Premier League this summer.

Ayyoub Bouaddi

After really breaking onto the scene at the 2026 World Cup, Ayyoub Bouaddi is expected to secure a Premier League switch before long. Even before the summer showpiece, the teenage Morocco international was courted by England’s biggest sides.

And as Manchester City gear up for a summer midfield revamp, Bouaddi is the latest on the Cityzens’ wishlist. City have already signed Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest. Bouaddi is now set to follow the England star through the Etihad entrance.

Julian Alvarez

Julian Alvarez has long been linked with a Premier League return. The Argentine hitman departed Manchester City for Atletico Madrid two years ago. However, Alvarez will feel as though he has unfinished business in England’s top tier. He’d love nothing more than to prove his former employers wrong.

Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for Alvarez, and for good reason. The Gunners may have won the title with Viktor Gyokeres largely leading the charge, yet the champions can improve upon the Swede. Alvarez certainly faltered in La Liga last season, yet 14 goal involvements, including 10 goals, in the 2025-26 Champions League campaign is proof of his capabilities in the final third.

Bradley Barcola

Paris Saint-Germain’s pursuit of Yan Diomande and Maghnes Akliouche is expected to push Bradley Barcola towards the Parc des Princes exit. Barcola may have featured frequently for the Parisian powerhouse last season. And yet, the incoming attackers are expected to limit the Frenchman’s game time further.

Now the World Cup has drawn to a close, talks a move to England should start to gather pace. Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have all been linked with a move for the France winger. It’s surely only a matter of time before Barcola crosses the channel.

Manu Kone

Another French star who may yet move to England. Manu Kone’s Les Bleus showings this summer have certainly caught the eye. The Roma midfielder has now cropped up on Premier League radars of those interested in bolstering in the middle of the park.

Manchester United may yet pursue their rumoured interest in Kone after Ederson’s move to Old Trafford fell through. Arsenal are another courting the 25-year-old as an alternative to Bruno Guimaraes. Liverpool are also said to be keen on Kone. He could be at the centre of a transfer scramble this summer.

Rafael Leao

Another Serie A player that is on Premier League wishlists, Rafael Leao is widely expected to depart AC Milan in the off-season. The winger struggled for game time for Portugal at the World Cup this summer.

Yet the 27-year-old shone when called upon, scoring one and assisting another despite registering just 155 minutes of action in North America. Tottenham Hotspur have been keeping tabs on Leao in their efforts to bolster their frontline, though they would face competition from Aston Villa for the Portuguese wideman.

Ousmane Diomande

While he made just one World Cup start for Ivory Coast in North America, Ousmane Diomande has his Premier League suitors and deservedly so. The 22-year-old is one of the most promising centre-backs in Portugal.

The ball-playing defender returned the second best pass accuracy (93.1%) in Liga Portugal last season. That jumped to 93.5% in the Champions League. Nottingham Forest are said to be leading the race for Diomande. He’d be some coup for the Tricky Trees.

Zion Suzuki

Japan crashed to a late round-of-32 defeat to Brazil but the tournament boosted Zion Suzuki’s reputation. The 23-year-old was already highly thought of ahead of the 2026 World Cup yet his showings between the sticks proved he’s ready for a big summer move.

Parma would be reluctant to cash in on Suzuki, who has become a key player for the Italian side in recent seasons. Premier League interest, though, doesn’t come as a shock. Leeds United and Newcastle United both need a new goalkeeper, and could do a lot worse than push for the Japanese star.

Folarin Balogun

Folarin Balogun was at the heart of 2026 World Cup controversy after his ban following a red card against Bosnia and Herzegovina was overturned. Not that it mattered anyway, as co-hosts USA crashed out of the tournament to Belgium in the last-16.

The 25-year-old caught the eye this summer on the pitch, too, as he struck three goals in four outings. 13 goals in Ligue 1 last season wasn’t a poor return either. A move back to England could yet come to fruition before long.

Pervis Estupinan

With Aston Villa in the midst of a summer rebuild, namely in the middle of the park, left-back is another area where they are expected to invest. Lucas Digne has been tipped with a return to France, and Villa would welcome the chance to cash in on the France star.

Pervis Estupinan may yet arrive to replace Digne. The 28-year-old only left Brighton & Hove Albion for AC Milan last summer. Estpuinan, however, is now set to depart the San Siro after just 12 months, with Villa Park an expected destination.

Antonio Nusa

Yan Diomande is the in-demand RB Leizpig winger but the Ivorian’s performances last season overshadowed Antonio Nusa’s commendable form for the Bundesliga side. Indeed, only Diomande (118) completed more take ons than Nusa (68) in Germany’s top tier last term.

There is rumoured interest from England, with both Arsenal and Liverpool said to have identified the young Norwegian as a potential winger target. RB Leipzig would be reluctant to lose both star wingers this summer. The Premier League’s financial power may prove too hard to resist for both player and club.
