Chelsea are considering a move for Norway and Benfica winger Andreas Schjelderup, reports the Chelsea Chronicle.

Schjelderup caught the eye for the Vikings during the 2026 World Cup as he provided three assists and scored once despite starting only two matches in North America.

It follows a solid domestic season with Portuguese outfit Benfica, where the 22-year-old managed seven goals and five assists.

And his performances for both club and country have caught the eye of Chelsea, who are looking to bolster their forward line this summer.

Chelsea willing to move Garnacho on

The Blues are willing to entertain offers for Alejandro Garnacho, despite only signing the Argentine winger from Manchester United last summer.

Garnacho managed just four assists and one goal for the west London side last summer and Chelsea are hoping to cash in on the 22-year-old in order to help fund a move for Schjelderup.

The player has a €100m release in his clause, though the same report suggests that anything above €40m would be acceptable for Benfica.

Blues would face competition for Schjelderup

Chelsea, meanwhile, are not the only Premier League side to have been credited with an interest in the Norwegian.

Indeed, the capital outfit would face competition from Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur should Benfica entertain offers for the winger.

The Reds remain in the market for another winger following Mohamed Salah’s departure despite the signing of Victor Munoz from Osasuna.

Spurs are also out to strengthen in the final third having brought in goalkeeper Martin Dubravka, defenders Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke, and midfielders Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali this summer.

Schjelderup was key for Norway this summer

Schjelderup was part of the Norway starting XI that fell to a 2-1 World Cup 2026 quarter-final defeat to England on Saturday.

It was the youngster who opened the scoring at the weekend in Miami, though the Red, White and Blue were pegged back by Jude Bellingham, the Real Madrid star on hand to bag a brace in the win over their European counterparts.

Victory over Norway set up a semi-final tie with rivals Argentina on Wednesday, and the winner of that clash will take on France or Spain in Sunday’s final.
