West Brom saw their winless run extended in their midweek hosting of Charlton, but the Baggies will be hoping to return to winning ways when they welcome a struggling Watford to The Hawthorns on Saturday.

The Hornets fell to a deserved loss at Swansea in their midweek tie and they have bad memories of last season’s corresponding fixture against West Brom.

Team news

Mikey Johnston is West Brom’s only injury concern, with James Morrison potentially naming an unchanged lineup from the one that faced Charlton in midweek. Jimmy-Jay Morgan will continue up front, flanked by Isaac Price and Kareem Tunde.

Watford’s injury list is much more extensive. Omar Haktab Traore was forced off in midweek and will miss out at The Hawthorns, joining Jack Grieves, Marc Bola, Kwadwo Baah and Jeremy Nghakia on the sidelines. New arrival Myron Boadu may make his debut for the club.

The stats

Four of Watford’s last five games have featured goals at both ends.

Iker Bravo has had 14 shots in five appearances for Watford.

Prediction

A low-key 1-1 draw with Charlton last time out made it three games without a win for West Brom, but the Baggies began the season with three straight victories and look primed to get back to winning ways on Saturday.

They have scored 13 goals across six competitive matches and hammered Watford 3-0 in April, although with both teams scoring in all six of the hosts’ games this season, another clean sheet appears unlikely.

Watford may have blanked at Swansea on Tuesday, but that was their first failure to score this season and they look good value to get on the scoresheet in the Midlands.

The Hornets will turn to summer signing Iker Bravo to provide much of their attacking threat. The Spaniard has had a club-high 14 shots on goal this season and has tested the opposition goalkeeper at least once in four of his five appearances.

For West Brom, Jimmy-Jay Morgan and Isaac Price have put in some excellent performances and can be backed to play a big role going forward.

Morgan has scored four goals and assisted two since his move from Chelsea, failing to register a goal involvement in just two of his six appearances, while Price has netted four goals from a club-high 22 shots on goal.

The 22-year-old has hit the target with 11 of those shots and is yet to fail to test the opposition goalkeeper in a match this season.

Score prediction: West Brom 3-1 Watford
