Southampton vs Millwall predictions: Lions can strike in defeat at St. Mary’s

Southampton have taken 13 points from the last 15 available at St. Mary’s Stadium
Both teams have scored in four of Southampton’s last five home games
Recommended bet: Southampton to win & both teams to score
Millwall jumped to fifth in the Championship table with a win over Bristol City on Monday, but the Lions have struggled away from home recently and may start 2026 in disappointing fashion at St. Mary’s against Southampton.
The Saints, who ended 2025 winless in four matches, have enjoyed success in front of their own fans lately and that should see them begin the new year strongly.

Prediction
Southampton have looked a rejuvenated outfit since Tonda Eckert’s appointment and the 13th-placed side should start 2026 in winning fashion when they host play-off contenders Millwall.
The Saints have won four and drawn one of their last five home matches while Millwall have suffered all three of their away defeats since the start of November, conceding nine goals in those losses.
The Lions may be struggling on the road, but they remain a threat going forward and they should at least find the net at St. Mary’s.
Neil’s side have scored in 12 of their 14 competitive away games this season and put three past Southampton as they narrowly beat them at The Den in November.
The Saints, for all their recent improvement, have conceded in five of their last six at home and both teams have scored in each of their last seven home and away.
