QPR have lost two games in three but sit a point off the top six in ninth
Ipswich returned to winning ways with a narrow victory over West Brom
Recommended bet: Ipswich to win
Queens Park Rangers welcome Ipswich Town to Loftus Road on Saturday with the aim of keeping up the chase on the top six in the Championship.
Both sides have won two and lost two in their last four games with the Tractor Boys in particular eager to add another victory having been tipped as one of the favourites for promotion at the start of the campaign.

Team news
Ilias Chair has come off the bench in the last two games for QPR having been out injured since August and will be hoping to force his way back into the starting XI.
Kwame Poku, too, has not played since picking up a hamstring issue on the opening day of the season but is back in training
Ipswich will be without Sam Szmodics who came off early against West Brom with a knee problem. The forward has had surgery and faces a spell on the sidelines.
Goalkeeper Alex Palmer is out with a calf injury while Conor Townsend has a knee problem, as do Wes Burns and Harry Clarke.
The stats
QPR are one of only two teams in the top half of the Championship to have conceded more goals than they have scored this season (scoring 15 and letting in 17).
Ipswich claimed a 1-0 victory on their last visit to Loftus Road in August 2023 having previously not won there since February 2010 (losing six).
QPR forward Richard Kone has not scored for three matches having previously netted four goals in seven matches.
The Tractor Boys have won only four games so far this season; during the promotion campaign of 2023/24, Ipswich had earned that many league victories by September 2.
Only three sides have scored more goals than Ipswich’s 17 this season (Coventry, Bristol City and Hull)

Prediction
These two sides are very capable of winning games and would be in the top six with greater consistency.
While QPR have probably been stronger than many fans and pundits expected in August, Ipswich are failing to reach the heights many tipped them for.
Kieran McKenna’s side enjoyed two promotions before suffering relegation from the Premier League and are perhaps reacclimatising to the second tier.
Enduring some bumps in the road which included a 3-0 home defeat by Charlton, Ipswich possess the quality to get back on track. After beating West Brom last Saturday, the Tractor Boys could follow this up with another win at Loftus Road.
QPR lost at home to Millwall then beat Swansea in South Wales before losing at Derby and it’s this type of form which makes it difficult to call results for the Hoops.
However, if McKenna can iron out some of the issues which have halted Ipswich from properly clicking this campaign, the Tractor Boys can pick up another victory when they head to the capital this weekend.
