QPR suffered a damaging 5-0 loss to Southampton in midweek
Sheffield United are currently 16th in the league table
Recommended bet: Over 2.5 goals
QPR did not enjoy their trip to St Mary’s in midweek, suffering a dismal 5-0 thrashing that leaves the capital club 14th in the standings.
It was their second loss across the last three matches and what looked like a potential bid for the play-offs has now turned into another season of mid-table mediocrity.
The Blades will have gladly accepted that fate after a dismal first couple of months. Chris Wilder has transformed the club and they could overtake QPR in the table by winning at Loftus Road this weekend.
Wilder’s men led leaders Coventry in midweek, but conceded twice in the second half to lose 2-1.

Team news
QPR have several first-team players missing for this match. Ilias Chair, Kwame Poku, Justin Obikwu, Karamoko Dembele and Rumarn Burrell are all injured and unavailable.
Against Southampton in midweek, Nicolas Madsen was forced off and it remains to be seen whether or not he will be fit enough to make the squad.
Sam McCallum and Tom Davies remain out injured for the Blades ahead of this clash at Loftus Road.
Elsewhere, Kalvin Phillips is still suspended having been sent off against Sheffield Wednesday last weekend.
Joe Rothwell returns from his own suspension, however, in what could be a boost for the visiting side.
The stats
Across 11 matches since the beginning of the 2017/18 campaign, the Blades have won six, with QPR claiming just two wins in the same period (D3).
Both teams have scored in six of these 11 matches, while over 2.5 goals has landed in five of them.
In five of QPR’s previous six Championship matches three or more goals have been scored.
For Sheffield United, three or more goals has landed in five of their previous seven league games.
Rumarn Burrell is the top scorer for QPR this season, finding the back of the net on 10 occasions.
Patrick Bamford has nine goals for the Blades this season, despite only joining the club in November 2025, but has never scored in six appearances against QPR.

Prediction
QPR are looking to win their third Championship game since January 31, but the midweek thrashing by Southampton may have shattered their confidence heading into this clash.
Wilder’s men know that a win at Loftus Road will allow them to leapfrog their hosts in the table as they continue their ascent towards the top half after a dismal start to the season.
While they lost against Coventry, it was a fairly close match, with the Sky Blues pushed hard for their win after falling behind just beyond the interval.
One thing that looks certain this weekend is goals. As such, backing over 2.5 goals in this match appears to be the best bet considering only Sheffield Wednesday have conceded more goals that QPR’s 52 so far this season.
