Tony Mowbray's Blackburn Rovers side face a tough trip to newly promoted Lincoln City on Tuesday.

Lincoln play host to Blackburn in the Championship on Tuesday evening as both teams seek to secure a second league win of the campaign.

Having secured a sensational League One title triumph last season, the Red Imps have won one of their first three second tier games to begin life in the Championship.

Blackburn have four points from nine, although they did lose to QPR last time out.

Team news

Chris Cohen has no fresh injury concerns ahead of this home game and he could name an unchanged starting XI from the one that defeated Bolton 1-0.

Rovers boss Tony Mowbray has three players out injury for this clash, with Yuki Ohashi, Mathias Jorgensen and Lewis Miller all absent.

The Englishman will also likely go with the same players who started in the 2-1 loss to QPR over the weekend.

The stats

The last time these two clubs met in a competitive match was back in August 2018. Blackburn won that game 4-1 in the EFL Cup to progress into the next round with ease.

Lincoln have won three of their opening five matches so far this season, beating Derby and Blackpool in the EFL Cup and securing a first league win over Bolton at the weekend.

Blackburn's EFL Cup journey came to an end in midweek, but they have lost just one of their first three league matches.

Both teams have scored in all five of Rovers' fixtures so far this season, while both teams have found the back of the net in four of Lincoln's five games, with the clean sheet coming last time out against Bolton.

Ben House has scored twice across his four matches this term, netting against Derby and Bolton and averages 2.3 shots per game in the Championship.

Lincoln's win over the Trotters was their first in the second tier since April 1961.

Prediction

Lincoln have not been fazed on their long-awaited return to the second tier.

In their opening match, City nearly snatched something against Middlesbrough, while they have already notched their first win to head into this clash in a positive mood.

Blackburn have lost only one of their opening three league matches, but Mowbray and his men will need to improve over the coming months if they wish to avoid being dragged into a relegation dogfight.

Lincoln did lose their only other home game this season against Portsmouth, but they can be backed to get over the line and move up the table thanks to another three points.

Expect House to make the difference in the final third for the Red Imps.
