Millwall head to Hull for the opening match of the play-offs on Friday night
Middlesbrough host fast-finishing Southampton in the second semi-final on Saturday
The Championship play-offs have arrived with four teams in the hunt to join Coventry and Ipswich in the Premier League next season.
Third-placed Millwall just missed out on the two automatic places when finishing one point behind the Tractor Boys, but sixth-placed Hull could still be playing in the top flight next season despite earning 10 fewer points than the Lions.
The first legs of the semi-finals take place on Friday and Saturday and we have a score prediction for each game.
Hull vs Millwall (Friday, 8pm)
The higher-placed team in the final table get the bonus of playing the second leg of their play-off semi-final at home, but Millwall will have no qualms about going on their travels first off anyway.
The Lions claimed more Championship points in away games than any other side in the division — even earning one more than champions Coventry — and they lost just four times in 23 games on their travels compared to seven defeats on home soil at The Den.
Millwall ended the campaign on a nine-match unbeaten run in league away games, with six wins and three draws, including notable successes over play-off contenders Wrexham and Middlesbrough.
Also in that run was a 3-1 away victory over their first play-off opponents, Hull, when second-half goals from Mihailo Ivanovic and Josh Coburn helped the Londoners to secure three crucial points.
Millwall finished the season on a five-match unbeaten run which included wins over QPR, Stoke and Oxford, while the Tigers had looked in danger of missing out on the top six.
A last-day 2-1 triumph over a Norwich team who could no longer reach the play-offs was enough for Hull to edge out Wrexham and Derby for the final place, but their form leading up to that game had been poor.
The Tigers went six games without a win when they really needed the points, including defeats to Sheffield United and Charlton, and their tally of 34 goals conceded at home is nine more than any of their play-off rivals.
Score prediction: Hull 1-2 Millwall
Middlesbrough vs Southampton (Saturday, 12.30pm)
Middlesbrough were in the top two of the Championship for the majority of the campaign but a late-season loss of form saw them fall to fifth in the final standings.
Last-placed Sheffield Wednesday and out-of-sorts Watford were the only teams Boro were able to beat in their final 10 games of the season.
Southampton, meanwhile, were red-hot after the turn of the year, going unbeaten after losing at home to Hull in mid-January.
The Saints were rejuvenated under manager Tonda Eckert and in addition to their rapid climb up the table, they beat Arsenal and gave Manchester City a real scare in the FA Cup.
Boro won only two of their last eight home league games, while Southampton won seven and drew two of their last nine on the road.
The south-coast side should be capable of taking a handy lead back home for the second leg.
Score prediction: Middlesbrough 1-3 Southampton
