Norwich have won seven of their last eight
Sheffield Wednesday have lost nine league games in a row
Both teams have scored in 14 of Leicester's last 15
Strap yourselves in for another Championship weekend, three days of thrill-a-minute action beginning with an all-Lancashire dust-up between Blackburn and Preston and culminating in Sunday's Steel City derby at Bramall Lane.
Blackburn vs Preston (Friday, 8pm)
Michael O'Neill got an instant tune out of Blackburn, masterminding a 3-1 win for his new team at QPR in his first game in charge.
Just three home wins all season hints at problems at Ewood Park and Preston, unbeaten in three, can make life tough.
Score prediction: Blackburn 1-1 Preston
Hull vs QPR (Saturday, 12.30pm)
QPR find wins hard to come by — three in 13 — but have also lost just two of their last eight.
Defensive errors are costing them progress and their rearguard will be tested at Hull, who are the division's joint third-highest scorers. They are also strong at home.
Score prediction: Hull 3-2 QPR
Stoke vs Leicester (Saturday, 12.30pm)
The worst injury crisis of my career is how Mark Robins views the current situation at Stoke, for whom the goals – and wins – have dried up.
Leaky Leicester, however, cannot keep a clean sheet for love nor money – their last in the league was in September.
Score prediction: Stoke 1-2 Leicester
Swansea vs Bristol City (Saturday, 12.30pm)
The Swans are unbeaten in their last eight at home but Bristol City, who have already thrashed the Welsh side 3-0 at home, won at high-flying Hull on their previous away-day.
Vitor Matos has turned the Swansea.com into a fortress, one which Bristol City are going to struggle to break down.
Score prediction: Swansea 2-1 Bristol City
West Brom vs Coventry (Saturday, 3pm)
The freefalling Baggies have yet to register a win in 2026 and have not scored a league goal in their last three matches.
That spells trouble against a Coventry side who may be spluttering a little but should be buzzing after Monday night's huge win over title rivals Middlesbrough.
Score prediction: West Brom 0-2 Coventry
Wrexham vs Ipswich (Saturday, 3pm)
Eight days after Wrexham pipped Ipswich 1-0 in round four of the FA Cup, they meet again at The Racecourse and this should be every bit as tense.
The first game this season between them at Portman Road ended 0-0, and with both clubs in good form, do not expect an inch to be given.
Score prediction: Wrexham 1-1 Ipswich
Watford vs Derby (Saturday, 3pm)
Derby have won three straight away – culminating in a 5-0 romp at Bristol City – and have bagged more points on their travels than at Pride Park.
Watford are under new management once again and there was enough in the 2-2 draw with Preston in Edward Still's first game to suggest better things to come.
Score prediction: Watford 1-1 Derby
Middlesbrough vs Oxford (Saturday, 3pm)
Oxford might be struggling but three games against divisional aces Middlesbrough and Coventry have yielded three draws, so they know how to roll up their sleeves.
Boro, smarting after losing to Coventry, will surely find a way through eventually as they hunt down a sixth win in seven
Score prediction: Middlesbrough 1-0 Oxford
Millwall vs Portsmouth (Saturday, 3pm)
Four days after going to south London and landing a 3-1 win at Charlton, Portsmouth return but for a far tougher assignment.
Millwall have lost just once at home since October 1 and their only losses at The Den have come against teams in the top seven.
Score prediction: Millwall 2-0 Portsmouth
Norwich vs Birmingham (Saturday, 3pm)
Norwich have been revived by Philippe Clement and boast a run of seven wins in eight ahead of Birmingham's visits.
That spells danger for Birmingham, who might be fantastic at St Andrew's where they have lost just once, but only two teams have scored fewer road goals.
Score prediction: Norwich 3-1 Birmingham
Southampton vs Charlton (Saturday, 3pm)
Southampton continue to play in bursts of brilliance and rubbish and right now are on the up with 13 points from the last 15 available.
Charlton's lone away win since October was at troubled Leicester so this trip, against a side they have already lost to 5-1 this term, may well be beyond them.
Score prediction: Southampton 4-1 Charlton
Sheffield Utd vs Sheffield Wednesday (Sunday, noon)
Going into their city rivals' lair should bring the beast out in Sheffield Wednesday, but 10 straight defeats in all competitions tells a different story and one that surely leads to an inevitable outcome.
Score prediction: Sheffield Utd 2-0 Sheffield Wednesday
