Chasing a revised target of 234 to win, the home side's middle order couldn't put together a partnership as they fell one by one, slumping to 8/71 before Gardner (35) and Garth (42 not out) combined for a 77-run partnership to keep the hope of an unlikely comeback alive but the damage was already done. South Africa were clearly the better team this afternoon and the deserving victors. The series decider will be here at North Sydney Oval on Saturday. See you then.
