Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo could both leave Liverpool as Fabrizio Romano reveals busy summer out wide

Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo may both be set to leave Liverpool as transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has detailed the need for the club to source new wide players.
Salah and Gakpo were among Liverpool's very best attackers last season. In the Premier League, they were both within the Reds' top three scorers - Salah miles top with 29 and Gakpo third with 10.
With the star attackers on song, it was little surprise that the Anfield outfit romped home to the Premier League title, but the following season, both players have suffered massive slips.
Salah is on just five goals and six assists in the league this season - after a combined 47 last term - while Gakpo is on six goals and three assists in the league.
Liverpool themselves are sixth in the table and the title is long gone, with top four the only thing they're now fighting for.
Per transfer insider Romano, Salah and Gakpo's form has led Liverpool to need some new assets out wide, which could put their futures up in the air.
Romano said on his YouTube channel: "I think it will be a busy summer for Liverpool with wingers. It’s very clear they need to reinforce their wingers.
"The situation with Salah and Gakpo. In general, I think Liverpool need to add something fresh in that position. I will come back very soon to tell you more."
Salah remains a target for the Saudi Pro League, where it seems a matter of when rather than if he'll land there - either they'll pay to sign him in the summer or wait a year until his contract is up at Anfield.
Gakpo, meanwhile, is unlikely to be short of suitors after Bayern Munich were after him in the summer before opting to sign then-team-mate Luis Diaz instead. In any case, both men are likely to cost below the sum they'd have gone for a year ago.
Speaking on potential reinforcements in the Liverpool attack, Romano suggested Michael Olise will be tough to land, though there are others in view.
Romano said: "Michael Olise is appreciated, but Bayern have no intention at all of letting him go. There’s no release clause in his contract. There are other realistic targets for Liverpool."
